My item is not showing in search results of only 24 listings
Hoping someone might have some ideas. 5 days ago I listed an item (157616424601) titled:
"Grandstream GRP2615 VoIP Business Phone with Color LCD - Excellent Condition!"
However, when I search for "Grandstream GRP2615" my item is not one of the 24 results. If I put more of the title in the search bar it will come up but not if I just search for "Grandstream GRP2615," which is what most people will search for.
Anybody else experience something like this and know what might be going on? Any help would be much appreciated!
PS Yesterday I took out the phrase "Excellent Condition!" thinking that ebay might be flagging in for that but it's still not showing up. Now the title is:
Grandstream GRP2615 10-Line Professional IP Business Phone with Color LCD

·8 months agoMy search, I just typed in Grandstream GRP2615 as you said that's what most people will search.
Nothing came up.
Then I noticed all the other Sellers have a just a simple Grandstream GRP2615 IP Phone as their listing title.
So I redid my search using Grandstream GRP2615 IP Phone.
There it was.
Best Match - Right there in the first 10.
Newly Listed - Second phone listed.
You've convoluted the listing title with all goobly crap. These Buyers KNOW it's Grandstream GRP2615 10-Line Professional IP Business Phone with Color LCD. No need to put all that crap in the title for the listing. Cover all that that down in the description. Just a simple Grandstream GRP2615 IP Phone will get your listing found.

OP8 months agoThanks for your advise. In this case it was eBay limiting the results to a specific category which my listing was not in. When I fixed the category it started coming up under "Grandstream GRP2615"

·8 months agoYou are a victim of eBay's "category switching" algorithm.
When eBay sees search terms that suggest a specific category, it will automatically limit the search to that category so that buyers only see what eBay considers to be relevant listings.
Since the search terms you entered suggest a VOIP phone, eBay is switching the category to the VOIP Phone category.
And since your listing is for a VOIP phone, you may want to list it in that category.

OP8 months agoThank you! I changed the category and typed in "grandstream GRP2615" and now my listing appears. I also see how it's automatically selecting that category up in the search box. Didn't know this was a thing so I really appreciate you breaking in down the way you did!

·8 months agoCategory.
Search: Grandstream GRP2615
eBay defaults results to category: VoIP Business Phones/IP PBX
Your listing is in the category: Business Phones & Handsets
If you want your item to appear in the default search results, put it in the VoIP category.
