My eBay account was restricted for no reason.
Hello, today I received an e-mail from ebay stating that they restricted my selling privileges and I was really upset. Because there is no reason, in my seller performance overview table I have 3 "Uploaded late" defects and 5 late shipping defects and i don't have any other defect and still, they are all considered to be above the standard And I don't have any "item not received" case for the last 1 year. when some of my defect were erased in April, I would become a top rated seller! My BBE rating is completely clear and it says "Compliant". I've sold tens of thousands of dollars item and I don't have a single negative feedback. All my customers are happy with their orders and I received this penalty while providing such good customer service. When I asked which order I made a mistake in, they told me I had just 1 order defect worth $1048, but there I only gave the customer a courtesy refund of $20 so he could buy accessories, and the customer showed his satisfaction by leaving positive feedback. A supervisor told me that I will receive an e-mail within 3 days and I hope my account will be opened, but I still cannot figure out why it is restricted, it is completely for no reason and I feel very helpless. Do you think my account will be opened? and what can i do more?
islandtreasureslk
·2 years agoReasons they mention
1. I could see that the restriction is due to that your account has extremely high BBE rate, which means a significant number of eBay buyers have had dis satisfactory buying experience when transacting with you.
2.
Apart from the item not received metrics, selling performance metrics, we also look at variety of factors and weigh the risk an account may pose to our community. Our policy applies to all and our team is constantly reviewing all accounts registered on our site and if we any account that pose risk to eBay and its community we restrict that account.
However, please note that for security reasons, we would be unable to share the reasons or factors involved leading to this action. It could have been easier, for me to share the exact details and specifics on which we recognized the breach.
Contrariwise, you may understand that by revealing our source and discussing our methods of identifying the reason for restriction, we can increase a chance of members circumventing our policies. Therefore, we are unable to share the exact reason for restricting your account.

OP2 years agoEveryone here is talking about the fact that my store is opened in Turkey, that I use stock photos and some other things, but just because my store is opened in Turkey does not mean that I cannot sell the goods of my warehouse in the USA and the distributors I have an agreement with. Since I am not a US citizen, I appear to be in Turkey and I have paid thousands of dollars in taxes to the US during these 2 years of sales. You want to know why I use stock photos and why I try to sell with modern images instead of creating listings with disgusting phone photos? Even though some of you want to help, I really don't understand the point of some of you. So never mind, I'll try to handle this myself.

broto_64
·2 years agoOk stop right there.
It is absolutely NOT "your" warehouse.
You do not own it, you do not rent it, you don't lease it, you don't know the street address of it and you don't even know the color it is painted; further you have never been inside of it, you do not pay the wages of those employed there, you don't pay the electric bill of that warehouse, you do not stock or load inventory there so no, it is most definitely not "your" warehouse.
I would more likely agree that these warehouses belong to the distributors you have whatever agreement with but that doesn't make it yours, and just to be clear I personally despise play on word games.

·2 years ago@Anonymous This is a very sad outcome for you, so sorry for your troubles. There is no doubt you made a favorable impression on your buyers. You seem to have a very personable demeanor that served you well as a seller.
That said, it is sadder still —it looks like your latest restriction did not have to happen. But it seems you have repeated the offense that got you into trouble with eBay last year. Copyright trouble. And i can see in your Completed listings that you may have “borrowed†the photo images from the Roku TV website. (See link below.) So once again, it appears you may have violated intellectual property rights.
Penalties on eBay are cumulative. They do not take it lightly when a seller breaks a rule repetitively.
Apparently, in the past, you did something similar and perhaps used another brand’s images and/or text without their authorization? If so, I hate to impart that it is quite likely that you will not be granted a reprieve and allowed to sell here again.
This is not about judging you @Anonymous —it is instead trying to give you critical information that is necessary for your business’ well-being. Understanding what actions led to your expulsion will prevent history from repeating itself. Wish you well in the future.

·2 years agoDropshipping is allowed on ebay in some circumstances. I don't know if that is why you have been restricted or if there is another reason.
Drop shipping, also known as product sourcing, is when you buy stock from a supplier and work with them to send items directly to your buyers without ever handling them yourself.
Drop shipping, where you fulfill orders directly from a wholesale supplier, is allowed on eBay. Remember that if you use drop shipping, you’re still responsible for the safe delivery of the item within the time frame stated in your listing and for the buyer’s overall satisfaction with their purchase.
However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay.

It's 275 LBS and as such it's not easy to get it out of the facility so we can't just wrap it in some bubble wrap and just deliver it to fedex. and check out other items ranging from 15-70 lbs. That's why there are some delays, but it's still a good rate within 130 sales. I don't understand your purpose, I just asked for your opinion. You can consider this topic closed

I looked at several of your larger, heavier sold items and am surprised that they all have free shipping and most are using UPS ground as the shipping carrier. Not sure how you managed that with the 275 pound item given the 150 pound weight limit UPS has but more power to you if you were able to ship that way.
Curious what it costs to ship something that big from Washington DC to say Los Angles, CA. it could not have been cheap.

·2 years agoEbay makes a lot of money from people who do 'amazon drop shipping'.
However, these foreign sellers that are just duplicating these listings only hurt sellers who actually have the product they are selling.
It's hard to be sympathetic for your situation.
broto_64
·2 years agoThe problem with dropshippers in my view is they clobber up search engine data and search results with their endless duplicate listings, but that is not all. They usually have barely a clue as to what it is they are selling, granted some other arbitrage sellers suffer from this as well but the dropshipper stands out in particular, when asked a question by a buyer they don't know the answer. They are also the ones constantly barraging buyers with pointless messages such as "hey would you let us know if you received the item" and begging for positive 5-star feedback... The list goes on, but all dropshippers share specific things, stock photos are another but ultimately lack of inventory control bites most of them.

So sorry for your situation. Looks to like you were drop shipping & possibly from another venue, perhaps Amazon or Walmart. This is a policy violation & grounds for suspension. Did eBay ask you where you were sourcing your inventory from? Did eBay ask you to provide receipts for those printers? Sometime stock pictures will raise flags for questionable selling behavior. I wish I could tell you something different on your behalf, but many of us here know how to spot retail arbitrage and your site seems to display it. Many sellers in your area the world seem to be using this type of prohibited selling platform and are being restricted/suspended by ebay in droves. Sorry.
I wish you well what ever the outcome may be. Good luck.

We know...most all sellers from Turkey have warehouses in the US and fly in daily to ship their items. Again, most of us here are very very experienced long time sellers and trouble shooters. We can spot drop shipping almost immediately as there is pattern that's very typical
Again, good luck to you with future opportunities.

No.
Many sellers are located in the US , but selling/shipping from China.
This is acceptable, because they have that contract mentioned in Post #21.
And while drop shipping is the lazy way to sell, and has many problems, it is allowed and even promoted by eBay.
broto_64
·2 years agoThat's what every dropshipper says, every single last one.
Also, the reason for your suspension is stated in the message informing you of the suspension. It is a very short message, usually only one or two sentences and the actual reason may be contained in as few as two or three words so you may have to look for it but the reason is there.
Oh see, you did find it!
Yes, thousand dollar printers, selling tens of thousands of dollars worth in a few sales, especially electronics, is considered high risk and ebay has decided they're done taking chances.
an-57470
OP2 years agoYes, you are right, it may seem like a high risk sale, but this is nothing for eBay. Stores that sell tens of thousands of dollars every day seem to be at higher risk 🤨
Also, while all my orders were delivered without any problems and in case of any non-delivery or damage in shipping, I never tried to throw it on ebay and have it paid from ebay funds like other sellers, I always paid from my own funds! However, as much as I shopped on ebay, 90% of the sellers I saw were disgraceful sellers, and there were even people who insulted me when I asked just "please ship it today".
Can you tell me why my store, which provides 5-star service, is getting damaged while these disgraceful sellers should be removed??

I do know that repeat offenses tend to lead to harsher punishments, in your case it appears you recently had a copyright infringement of some sort, this may have led to this but I don't know.
Have you tried contacting ebay through social media, to perhaps be able to gain some further insight?
an-57470
OP2 years agoI have not contacted eBay via social media, but I learned from the articles I read this morning that it is effective and I will contact soon. Apart from the fact that the supervisor raised an objection for me in the live chat and asked me for 3 days to review my account, I also sent my defense to ebay@ebay.com. I am very worried that they will not respond positively after 3 days.
If they do not respond positively, will I be able to object again?
They also told me, "You will be able to object to come back to us after 30 days." I still haven't been able to resolve this restriction, which can only be removed by appeal after 30 days. There was no information in the information e-mail I received. What do you think for this?

“…in my seller performance overview table I have 3 "Uploaded late" defects and 5 late shipping defects…†(Mess. #1, opening post)
And you alluded to case(s) of non-delivery or damage. So weren’t there some issues? That information is necessary in order to help you.
In other words, the community only has limited information in which to glean pertinent facts. Sometimes it is difficult to know what to do when seemingly contradictory info is apparent. So it will get mentioned by one or more posters. That may seem like an insult or an affront.
It is often not meant to be anything but an effort to gain your clarification. We here cannot drill down to the find the best answer to your question without it.

The comments and advice one receives in a public forum will be varied, with degrees of helpfulness. But when an OP becomes angered or hurt and then collects their toys and leaves, no one—not the OP, not those who try to advise in good faith, nor the many who will read about a plight (and find answers to their same or similar dilemmas)—will benefit.
Why not remain? All that is needed is to keep an open mind. This is business, not personal (as they say) but am sorry you seem offended by some responses. The community can only help based on what you impart and what can be assumed by examining your listings.
There are many here with extensive experience regarding eBay. Often i have seen superior advice from fellow posters compared to what can be gained thru Customer Service, especially since Covid shut down the call center. eBay customer service has not been reinstated to pre-pandemic levels of skilled helpfulness.
Take away what helps, leave the rest on the forum. Best of luck to you.

OP2 years agoHello, Thanks for your kind reply. There was only one INR case in the 2023-2024 period, and the buyer opened this case by mistake instead of opening a return. Late shipments can sometimes happen. I mentioned that I sell heavy products and it is difficult to ship them (sometimes i am waiting FedEx for they pickup my package) . However, I was still rated above standard and if there were no problems in April, I would be a top rated seller. My account cannot be restricted based on these statistics. There is another incident but ebay is reluctant to explain it. Fortunately, a supervisor is working to help me and I have the last 24 hours to receive an e-mail from them and they also said, "You can appeal to get back to us after 30 days." Frankly, this gave me hope. They may have punished me for a mistake I made unknowingly, but they may give me a second chance. I hope everything will be okay. Thanks again for your reply. The INR metric has presented a number of sellers with some issues where, in cases like yours, the buyer opened by mistake, the item was slightly delayed in transit but actually arrived, etc. Even in instances where the INR is closed in the sellers favor the metric remains on the sellers account. It is an issue eBay needs to correct but is unlikely to do so.
With regards to the late shipments you could change your handling time to 4+ days to allow sufficient time to get the larger items packaged and shipped however that would negate one of the requirements for TRS. You may want to review the requirements for TRS status. One of the requirements is that you offer free 30 day returns, but there are exceptions to that. The following gives you the requirements for TRS.
