musical albums
so I have a bunch of old band and orchestra albums. I have a lot of mozart and batoven and symphony type genre. would this be a good avenue t to list here on ebay?

·3 years agoDon't forget that if you decide to sell them here to check them out completely and carefully. Any skips in the music or anything like that needs to be noted. You can't always tell there are flaws from a visual inspection.
So listen to some great music while you are doing things around the house or open the windows and sit outside and enjoy.
You also need to be prepared on how you will safely package them for shipment. Keeping them safe while in the hands of the carrier. Don't wait until you sell some and then figure out how to package and ship them. Do that before you list anything.

·3 years agoThe specific record label is big (married to a huge classical music boffin) - so it's something to pay attention to.

·3 years agoThe right classical lp's sell very well and some for a lot of money. Unfortunately the wrong classical lp's don't.
What is right?
Condition, classical buyer are not going to buy most stuff if it's not in top condition (cover and disc) and they want to know that it is accurately graded and will be packed properly.
Demand, buyers would be looking for specific record labels, conductors, orchestras, soloists etc. There have been tons of classical releases made of well known compositions and composers using third-rate musicians on budget labels.
Whatever you have, eBay is a good place to list them, doesn't mean will sell or fetch much money.
Of course if you acquired a collection from a semi-serious classical music listener who looked after their records then you could have some nice stuff that would sell well on eBay.

·3 years agoHi, i imagine there is a healthy market for classical music. But overall, it depends on multiple factors like condition, collectibility, your price point, overall demand, what other goals you may have etc.
Just as a general sense of it, i did a search for “Beethoven vinyl records†and it returned 43,000+ current listings. Out of 9200+ Completed listings, there were 4200+ sales.
What kind of research have you done, or is this a first effort out of the gates?
