Most Annoying Notifications This Week | Selling

Am I alone in finding these cockamamie emails irritating?? I know how to check the delivery status of my orders and I don't need anyone to goose me into listing. They're not even accurate, I'm clearly not on the dang rise. Who asked for this? I feel like my mom is reminding me to finish my homework. For the love of God, knock it off ebay.

I initially agreed with you, not sure if I knew of the ability to turn it off. I'd prefer it mention what the darn item was, instead of going through orders. I no longer leave feedback since so few leave me feedback, I liked this to try leaving feedback as soon as it was delivered, to remind them. That didn't make much difference, nor has immediate shipping, contacting, or including notes. I'm reluctant to send request, as others send me because I tried that years ago and just got noise.

I'm not sure if you are aware that ebay now gives sellers positives if the sales go smoothly, so you will now get credit whether the buyer bothers or not. You have 16 positives given by ebay so far.

I hear you. I'm in exactly the same boat, never had one until a few days ago, now they're coming every day. I am able to ignore it, so it's not the message itself that is bothering me.

The part that bothers me is that a couple of years ago I intentionally went into my settings and unclicked almost all notifications. So this new notification is either something I can't turn off OR ebay went and changed my settings without letting me know.

Either way, this message is just more unnecessary code for a website that seems to create new code just for the sake of it.

I thought I had unchecked all but the item sold and and label notifications, but I guess not. I just unchecked it (possibly again) so we should see very shortly if that corrects the situation. I'll definitely follow up here if I get another one of these naggy notifications.

Just recently I started getting odd notifications and not getting item sold ones. I looked at my preferences and they had magically changed, so I redid them and so far so good.

Phew! I have little faith in my recall, but I honestly thought I'd turned almost everything off. I'm relieved to know I'm probably not losing any more of my marbles.

There's something about the tone of this particular notification that irks me, because of course the order was delivered! The cheerleading comes across as "get off your butt and get back to work".

It's probably just my winter/Covid grumpiness...

Mine were definitely changed. I would never have turned off item sold notifications and it was not checked. Several others that I have no interest in receiving were checked off.

@tarotfindsandmore No it's not just winter/Covid; the message is exactly how it sounds. This is how corporations work. If they annoy a thousand people to get one person to do something that might bring in revenue, it's "worth" it.

The point of the post was that I'd never received a single one of these things in the past three years I've been selling on this account, and they're only coming to my regular inbox intermittently so they clearly weren't coming in as junk. I guess you missed that part.

I wish I could trust myself to let them all go to junk/spam, but I would definitely forget to ship or mislabel something. I keep my "item sold" notifications until the sold item is packed and the "purchased label" messages until the items are scanned as accepted. Until this past couple of weeks those were the only messages I was getting.

My eyes are too crummy and my patience is too limited to rely on the app exclusively.

I don't use the app for actual work - it's too cumbersome - just use the tools on the seller hub. Those notifications were a real pain no matter what my settings were so I've ignored them for the last 15 or so years.

In the Communication Preferences, there’s an “Item Received” checkbox under Selling Activity. I think that should turn those off if you uncheck it.

I'd never gotten a single confirmation that an item was received prior to the past week or two, not sure why they started sending these things. It's totally random (at least 30 items have been delivered but I've only received a few of these stupid messages) and very odd. I've unchecked that box, I'll report back if it wasn't effective.

I think it was a relatively recent addition, though I thought it had been a few months, not weeks. Maybe it was a gradual rollout to different accounts. I don't get the notifications for our business account, so I haven't seen them myself.
