More Seller Shipping Time
USPS is a mess. They are now firing more, early pension, because of DOGE requirements. This is good to get rid of dead weight, but shipping takes more time as USPS is understaffed. Thus sellers need more time before claims are made. Ebay Standard ESUS has been revised to very strict standards and packages that used to be accepted thickness and stiffness are now bounced back to sellers to be reshipped by USPS Ground at great expense. This is because of cheating, sellers shipping envelopes too thick by ESUS, and lack of USPS staff due to DOGE. So please Ebay EXTEND SHIPPING TIMES AND BE MORE FORGIVING TO SELLERS UNTIL MORE NEW USPS WORKERS ARE HIRED THAT ARE HOPEFULLY BETTER THAN THE LAST BUNCH (probably worse percentagewise).

·1 year agoWhen I check my tracking it's amazing how many packages are marked arriving late. Now on the flip side so far they have been all delivered.

·1 year agoStandard envelope orders arriving late do not effect your metrics, they are always removed. I just checked my card account, it had 17 late deliveries, 16 of them were removed, and the last one wasn't standard envelope.
Nothing has changed at the post office when it comes to standard envelope. They are only barely aware that the program exists and ebays standard for it are not real post office standards, nor do changes to it change post office standards.
Your problem is likely due to 2 things, you are selling coins in protectors, which were always the item that worked the worst in standard envelope and you are probably on the radar of someone at your local post office who is tired of unjamming your coin envelopes and have started giving them problems.
I have found the key to making something like a coin go through better is use a cut card binder page with the 3 pockets, put the coin in one of the side envelopes and put some blank paper or 3 or 4 baseball cards in each of the other pockets, this gives a uniform thickness that is unlikely to get caught in the machine like a coin in protector taped inside the envelope.

·1 year agothis all started along time ago and has increasingly gotten worse , mostly because for the past few years they have been hiring mostly contractors instead of employees , and from what i have seen of the contractors they do not care ....

·1 year agoThe current delays are, primarily, the result of storms throughout the middle of the country. They have nothing to do with DOGE or any other conspiracy the left is trying to promote.

It is an independent agency that is part of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. Other independent agencies include the CIA, the SEC, Amtrak, the EPA, the FDIC, the Fed, and a dozen or so others.
It is authorized by Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution ("Powers of Congress") - the same article that authorizes Congress to make laws, borrow money, and declare war.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy signed an agreement with DOGE the night of March 12 to allow the DOGE team to help find further efficiencies at the USPS.

There was talk from Trump, Inc., about the agency being put under the purview of the Secty of Commerce, but I'm not sure where that stands.
I tend not to think privatization is something in the cards for the USPS, though.

·1 year agoThe original ESE guidelines were incompatible with the USPS sorting equipment.
Many sellers are unaware of the revisions, and would not follow them because it appears to be a risk to safe arrival.
Delays and losses have nothing to do with DOGE. ESE envelopes which jam the sorters have led to the problems one sees. Old time computer people would describe ESE as a kludge. It is an attempt to increase Letter Mail volume without any technology improvement or investment.
Delays in other services are a result of cost cutting, but not by DOGE. It costs a lot of money to have many alternative routes and major sorting centers. Algorithms have been used to channel package volume to fewer automated sorting centers. As a result, routing errors take longer to recover from. There is still enough human interaction that human error, accidental or deliberate can slow delivery.
Equipment which was used a few hours per day is now used on multiple shifts, and the distance between sorting centers passed through has increased to generate the volume of mail.
Nobody wants to pay for faster service, so there is none. Mailers do not want to pay, the government does not want to pay. It does not matter who is in the Congress or the White House, neither party wants to spend on the USPS.
