More Pics of What?

I was looking at my May report and I noticed three categories where it was suggested that I add photos. The items in these categories are new with tags, or new and sealed (tarot decks, women's bags, and action figures). I have about a half dozen photos (some a few less, some a few more) in each of the listings. My question here is, what other pics should I add to listings for items in that condition?

·4 months agoWhile I sometimes look at these recommendations it's mostly for the entertainment factor.
When eBay suggests I need more pics of a single piece of flat paper where I have two pics showing both sides I just roll my eyes. Do you really think that a pic of the edge of the paper will boost sales?
Same goes for the frequent recommendation to reduce my handling time by ONE day (from 5 to 4) for a 7% greater chance of selling (why not 3 days or 2 days?).
eBay's generic recommendations are junk!

You could add some closeups of the tags, I guess, and photos with a measuring tape.

·4 months agoIn addition to the other suggestions, it might be worth some close ups on places where there isn’t damage but there commonly could be, like package corners and any sealed edges or tape.

·4 months agoI had this same issue with my report too, and I always find new, in-packaging stuff the absolute hardest to photograph, because you can't get good shots of the important things like action figure joints, paint wear, close ups of cards, or clasps and closures.
If I had to add anything to your listings, my only suggestions would be 1.) Any codes on things like LEGO products, and 2.) any defects or damage on the packaging.
If you keep the packaging really pristine, then there's not much to photograph, which is great for profits, but not for adhering to the algorithm. 😕
Best of luck, friend!

·4 months agoSame here - how many angles of an old tupperware lid do they possibly want?
But it does seem to push you up in search - so I do a few close ups - 8 seems to be the magic number - Front center, 4 corners, a close-up and flip for the back - it is routine now.
It's that report - you can also ignore if there isn't any way possible to grab 8 photos of anything - or just add duplicates.
