Midyeaer Seller Account Change - Personal to Business - How is 1099K reported?
I changed my seller account mid-year 2025 from a personal account to a business account. I replaced my SSN with my EIN. 2025 sales will be > $20K. Does anyone know how eBay will report sales on the 1099K 2025? Will it be all using the EIN or multiple 1099K with the SSN used prior to the account change?
Thanks in advance!

It is by account. So you will get a 1099K if you meet the threshold for the entire amount that came through this account.

I think that's a reasonable assumption. The IRS doesn't really recognize any of us by our given or chosen names, but by our numbers: Social Security Number and Employer Identification Number.

Thank You for posting the link that you did. It says it was last updated October 13, 2025, so that's pretty recent and reliable. I fear that a lot of Californian eBay sellers will be surprised when they get a 1099-K. (My selling ID comes nowhere close to that number this year. . . . .)
Here's the quote in the Asterisk "See note below" that explains California's $2,500 threshold for 1099-Ks. It's kind of long, as footnotes go. I've separated it into sentences in an effort to help make it easier to read and understand, and adding some highlighting:
" *For tax year 2024, third-party settlement organizations that issue Forms 1099-K are required to report transactions where gross payments exceed $5,000, regardless of the number of transactions, consistent with the IRS’s recent decision to delay implementation of the new $600 threshold until tax year 2026.
For tax year 2025, the threshold will be $2,500, regardless of the number of the transactions. In general, third-party settlement organizations should file with the FTB the Form 1099-K that they are required to file with the IRS.
Please be advised that this delay of the implementation of the new reporting requirements does not impact the requirement to issue a Form 1099-K for payments in settlement of third-party network transactions to app-based drivers for California purposes; the $600 threshold still applies to those payments.
