Mc011 notice
I started with eBay 16 years ago. There were a few hiccups but nothing major until recently. We closed a company and listed a lot of items on eBay. Unfortunately a person who supposed to ship the items sold got into a hospital and could not ship in time . We refunded all the buyers for what ever items were sold with no issue. Then two more items were sold and paid for them and at this time we were able to ship them on time . All of a sudden eBay put restrictions on my seller account and requesting a bunch of documents including invoices for sold items . I provided all the identity proof but I do Not have these freaking invoices for the items that were purchased years ago for company that no longer exist . All in all they are holding my funds around $600 hostage. I called , I sent messages to no avail. It has been going on for over a month now. Did anybody have this issue? eBay is being ridiculous with that request

·2 years agoMany Ebay sellers are running afoul of the anti-counterfeiting and anti-theft initiatives that Ebay and other marketplace sites have implemented due to negative publicity and regulatory threats.
Due to the enormous volume of product effected, the process is automated by low-IQ artificial intelligence. The high tickets, late shipment and brand associated with your listings make it questionable that getting paid will be easy.

·2 years agoSince this is equipment being sold from your son's now closed business what about Tax Documents that claimed the purchase expense when he acquired the equipment?

No, I have never had any issue where I sold a lot of items and did not ship them.
eBay is being ridiculous with that request
I think eBay is being sensible by asking for verification of your ability to ship the items you are offering, since you have a track record that shows you haven't done that in the past.

Sorry for your situation. I just looked at your inventory & most items appear to be used. eBay wants to know where you are sourcing your inventory from due to all the stolen merchandise on this site. NOT saying this is your issue, but the law is leaning on them to clean up this site and this is how they're choosing to do it. This is what you do...reach out on social media via Facebook:

These agents are US CS eBay employees and may better serve you and your situation. Many positive posts with their ability to be helpful. In the past they were helpful concerning my issue at hand. Give it a try & do it today.
Wishing you a positive outcome
Good luck

OP2 years agoThank you for taking time to response but I don’t have invoices for the two by items that I sold and shipped. Does it mean that eBay is going to keep my money after 16years of doing business with them and proving my identity with drivers license and property bill . Yes, all my items are used which makes them less probable to be stolen , right? I am at my wits end

·2 years agoYou're going to have to provide something that proves you owned the items or at least had the rights to sell them.
They won't keep the money.
After awhile, the money will be sent to your states unclaimed property, then you can get it from them.

OP2 years agoWhat is in your opinion the best way to prove that I had a right to sell the items. After all we are talking about $600 right now . My son owned the company which I was part of for 16 years. Recently he had to shut down the company due to financial problems . The company was doing digital transfer from old media to digital , and this is the nature of the equipment we are selling . If eBay “fraud specialists “ were in doubt , all they had to do just google last name and not to request to dig invoices for equipment which was purchased years ago

Did you try to get hold of the facebook link I sent you? It can't hurt to try.

OP2 years agoI did but for some reason FB asks me to log in into my eBay account on their page but I am hesitant to do it due to security reasons but I did get a new link from eBay asking me to provide ID stating that they did not get my previous one. Still waiting for response . Thank you for your support
