Hey Ebay, could you make some more ways for me to pay you. I do not like making money. I like giving it all to you more. Thank you for taking over $400 in marketing fees from me and giving me $60 in sales. You will all be on superyachts in no time. Just want to say good job on stealing everyone's hard earned money. I could literally get more people to show up at my garage sale then sell on here "WORLDWIDE" HaHa

·2 years agoYou would need to provide more information as to how eBay took $400 in marketing fees for $60 in sales. That equates to a new loss of $340. What percent are you promoting at 400%? On the plus side you have one heck of a tax write-off. That $340 loss is going to increase once you factor in your other selling expenses. At least it should offset some of your other tax liabilities.

·2 years agoI like when they suggest I start an auction with $.99 bid. With postal rates what they are, a sale at $.99 will guarantee you lose money, after Ebay takes their percentage of the sale AND shipping.

Clothing and handbags are such an oversaturated market, there are millions of listings of the same items you have. Maybe not worth doing PL's on them? Have you thought about branching out?

·2 years agoActually, it has gotten more difficult to sell in those supersaturated markets without PLs. However, I'm not sure what kind of rate would require $400. 😨

·2 years agoSounds like you do not know enough about promotions to use that feature. You need to do the math before you promote an item.

·2 years agoIf you paid $400 in fee to make $60, you did exactly what eBay wants you to do. I don't promote and won't promote. eBay wants people like me to believe we must promote. That plan is not working, I just sell other places.

If buyers can't find your items or, even if they do, can't complete the checkout.
You would have no sales either.

·2 years agoNo one is forcing you to pay to promote your listings.
It doesn't matter how much you promote, if the person seeing your listing isn't interested in the item, it isn't going to make any difference.

·2 years agoWhen I was a little boy, I am currently 80, my grandmother would reply to my comments of complaint, "If you don't like my peaches, don't shake my tree." That adage has served me well through the yrs. Perhaps it would also work for you.
