Manage Active lIstings Page not searchable by category?
It seems that recent changes to the Manage Active listings Page no longer allows to search listings by category or any other designation besides title, SKU or Item Number. Is this true?

·1 year agoI sell in several different categories and when researching what category I should use I am unable to see what category a listing is in, which makes it hard to decide. I am not sure why ebay changed that in a listing, it used to be up at the top. Kind of frustrating.

·1 year ago@mam98031 @wastingtime101 @super_sunny_sales I've confirmed that is just the screen size. 'Categories' does NOT show in the individual bubbles when I'm at 100% using a 15" laptop screen
but if I reduce to 90%, same,
then 80%- boom! A 'Categories' bubble shows up and you don't have to click 'filters'.

·1 year agoYep, you're correct @stainlessenginecovers . That's exactly what I was saying above.
It's different for everybody based on their screen resolution, screen size, browser zoom, and other factors.
Basically the menu bar shrinks to fit your window and hides buttons behind "all filters." It's designed that way to avoid having a horizontal scroll bar.
It's a good way to do it if sellers are given a customization option to pick the order of their buttons. Let them choose what's most important for their business to be what they see before stuff starts being hidden.

·1 year agoI agree and would have had NO idea that the 'category' thing was 'hidden' had I not tried. I'm back to 100% and don't mind 1 extra click (because the 'Category' thing still requires you to choose 'Ebay Category' or 'Store Category'....but I use the same 'Filters' button to click 'offers' and then it shows if and how many 'offers sent' in which I can then tell it to show me that and then..........I can click an offer to 'remind me' how much longer before I can edit/send new offers etc.)

·1 year agoYes it is. It is the icon called "categories". Just select what you need from the options.

·1 year agoexcept that categories section is hidden away in the filters for most of us.

·1 year agoOnce you use the filters and select how you want to search, the preferences will automatically populate on your page.

·1 year agoYeah, I did notice that the categories option was there last night but it is gone again this morning..

·1 year agoPlease provide a screen shot so we can look at the differences. That would be very helpful. @super_sunny_sales

·1 year agohere you go..

·1 year agoWould you expand on that for me please. The screen shot I gave earlier is what I see when I go into active listings. So for me it isn't hidden, it is one of the options with the filters on the screen. You can click on it and then you select if you want Ebay categories or your store categories.
I should note that this is the view on the PC version. I don't use the App.

·1 year agoIt's different for everybody @mam98031 based on their screen resolution, screen size, and other factors.
For example, this is what I see (ignore the offer filter stuff below and just look at the top sliver where I only have 3 buttons).
I can't get more buttons to appear unless I change my browser to full page, taking up my entire screen, which is not practical when I work with multiple open windows, excel charts, etc. My windows fill approx 2/3 of my 15" laptop screen.
It's been pretty well documented with screenshots from different sellers that we all see something a little different.
I mentioned on another post earlier today that I've been advocating for change. I want eBay to make those customizable (just like we can customize the active listings table) so we can choose which buttons go in spot # 1, 2, 3. Really hoping eBay builds out that function in 2025.
I will never, ever click on "listings with watchers," yet I'm stuck with that button. And I can't see categories as it's behind all filters, yet I use categories all the time. I don't care about "send offers - eligible" since I don't send offers on my biz account, but I do use the "status" filter every day to filter out of stock. I also use biz policy filters a lot. I strongly believe sellers need a customization option and hope eBay agrees.

·1 year agoI asked for a screenshot from the other poster because I had not seen what they are seeing. IDK about anything being "well documented" as I haven't been involved in those other conversations. My apologies if I'm asking for info that everyone else has previously reviewed / seen.
There are others that advocate for change as well. You aren't alone. They just may not say it on the threads.
Thank you for the added information that I personally had not seen. I should note I use my PC exclusively and do not ever use the App.

·1 year agoIn case you think I was putting you down, I definitely wasn't. My comment about "well documented" was intended to be a point of reference. To phrase it another way: there are a lot of screenshots on this forum if you want to search for them.
And in case you do not want to go searching, that's why I posted the screenshot of my view - for a quick and easy reference.
Basically the menu bar shrinks to fit your window. The larger your window, the longer your menu bar. It's designed that way to avoid having a horizontal scroll bar.
Hope that helps.
I'm not sure if you mentioned the app as just an FYI / point of reference? If so, noted! I do use the app so if you ever have app questions, feel free to ping me.
But if you mentioned the app because you think that's where my screenshot came from - then no, my screenshot was from the classic website on a laptop. You've got a whole lot more menu buttons because traditionally desktops have large monitors. 🙂

·1 year agoOk, I just noticed that. I remember seeing the categories last night but then I remembered I was on our other computer that has a bigger monitor. If they are going to do it like that, they should make it customizable..
