LOW SELLER PERFORMANCE
Summary: saleen-s351 shared their challenges after a difficult year which included hospitalization and handling their mother's estate. These events impacted their ability to fulfill eBay orders, leading to a 'low standards' status on their dashboard despite resolving issues with buyers. onlinecentral and others advised that not fulfilling orders due to any personal reason still affects seller metrics and that improvements can be made by completing more sales without issues. Suggestions were made to use vacation mode or end listings if unable to manage sales. It was noted that eBay typically doesn't accept excuses, and it's important to review seller metrics to understand the specific issues impacting performance.
Ive been a seller since 1999. never had a problem till now. still have 100percent feedback. i had a bad year was in hopital then not long after that my mother passed away and had to handle her estate. during that time, i sold a few things and wasnt around to send them out or see they were sold. all were sent their money back so no major problems and any neg feedback was resolved withe buyers. now my account now that im back says my dashboard is in low standards and i need to resolve by sept 20th if i dont resolve. i dont understamd what i need to do to resolve. and ai agent was no help?

·1 month ago · EditedIf you were not in a position to fill orders, you should not have been allowing buyers to place orders.
IMHO that is just eBay being polite to soften the blow, and they are about to ban you for being a non-performing seller.

How the evaluation periods work is on the 20th of EACH month we are eval'd on the period ending the PREVIOUS month and the result becomes effective the 1st of the Following month. So for example, the eval on 9/20 will be for the period ending 8/31 and the result is effective on 10/1 for the vast majority of the evals. There is the occasion when something serious is going on that the effective date can be moved up.
You should know by now that feedback has NOT been part of the eval on sellers for years. I congratulate you on your wonderful feedback, but that nor your length of time on the site has anything to do with your status as a seller. It is ALL about the numbers on your Seller Dashboard. So you need to first identify what your problem is from the Seller Dashboard numbers in order to work on resolving whatever issue you have.
OR you may be having a problem with the Service Metrics for too many returns. Again you need to review all the numbers and pinpoint where your problem is in order to successfully come up with a plan of action to work out of it.
So please review your numbers and come back and tell us exactly what the problem is and we can likely help you develop a plan to work out of it.

·1 month agoSorry that happened to you, but...
You are expected to fulfill your orders.
Refunding disappointed buyers does not make it go away.

·1 month agoI'm sorry you had a bad year but when it comes to ebay, ebay expects you to have a backup plan. They don't care that you weren't "around to send them out or see they were sold."
And issuing refunds to buyers who didn't get what they paid for doesn't mean they weren't disappointed and it doesn't mean that you shouldn't have had your performance metrics take a hit.

eBay does have an appeal process, and one of the reasons you can select is being in the hospital. I do not know that anybody has ever had any strikes removed for that reason. The quick advice here is normally eBay does not allow excuses. That's probably the case 95% of the time. I do know you only have a limited amount of time to file an appeal, so if these issues were more than 90 days ago, I don't think you will be able to appeal them, I'm sorry.
For the future, if you do not have a back up plan where someone can check your account and handle any orders, then if you have an emergecy or are going to be away, it is best to end all of your listings. In the alternative you can go into vacation mode, but that only covers you for a limited amount of time.
Sorry to hear of the trouble you've had and about your mom.

·1 month agoNot sending out sold items is one of the worst mistakes you can make on ebay. No matter what the reason. While you have a very legitimate reason that doesn't make any difference to ebay or to your buyer. Not shipping things results in a "bad buyer experience" (BBE).
Ebay takes BBE extremely seriously. It doesn't take too many of those to drop your status and even put your account at risk. Again, no matter what the reason was.
The only way to get your status back is to sell lots of items and get them shipped quickly.
In the future if any event occurs where you cannot attend to your ebay selling you MUST end your listings or put them on "time away". No excuse will work for not shipping sold items.

·1 month agoWhat percentages and numbers does your Seller Level screen display for these metrics?
https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard?region=US
Transaction defect rate 0.00%
0 of 1,000 transactions
Late shipment rate 0.00%
0 of 1,000 transactions
Cases closed without seller resolution 0.00%
0 of 1,000 transactions
Tracking uploaded on time and validated 100.00%
1,000 of 1,000 transactions
If buyers made purchases that you never shipped out, they would file Item Not Received cases.
If you did not respond to the cases by uploading tracking numbers (nonexistent in your case),
a) eBay would have closed the cases
b) Issued the refunds
c) Added strikes to your account and raised the percentages for:
1) Late shipment rate
2) Cases closed without seller resolution
3) Tracking uploaded on time and validated
You need more selling transactions to dilute the percentages.
Otherwise, the defects will fall off over time.
Until that aging occurs, you may have some selling limitations or pay a penalty with increased Final Value Fees.
