Looks like we're not the only ones getting these
Summary: gurlcat expressed concern over a phishing scam affecting their community of fish enthusiasts, mentioning the site's unique model of voluntary donations and minimal oversight. grann-4629 echoed the worry, lamenting the sophistication of scammers and the threat they pose to trusted, honor-based platforms.
Just saw this post on Facebook. Apparently my old fishy friends are getting phished. I hope it doesn't result in any liability for the site owners because they've run it FEE-FREE for decades (paid by purely voluntary seller donations) and with almost no intervention between buyers and sellers. Considering we're talking live organisms, mutual trust has always been key to the site's viability. So sad to imagine it being threatened by total outsiders just trying to scam dollars wherever they can.

·1 month agoThe sky is falling ... and on-line scammers are now more sophisticated than the scammer-stoppers. It's a sad state when a venue starts up based on the honour system where trust is is so important and then gets attacked by those kids that live in their mother's basement and have no idea what the Sun looks like.
Hope they all rot before they take over 😎
