Looking for trading assistant in the Phoenix Arizona area.
Hi, not sure how this works, but I am looking for help selling some items.. I’m in the phoenix area, west side Sun City. I read about trading assistants , but apparently they don’t have this anymore. Any information on how to get help is appreciated. Nancy

This is a 5 month old thread and some times I believe these aren't always truthful requests. Lots of people play around on these boards.
You should advertise locally. On FB or CL. Unless you are willing to take responsibility for taxes, seller fees, returns, shipping, supplies & possible fraudulent transactions, not to mention paying out a hefty fee to that seller (about 50%), I doubt you 'll get any bites here on this forum.

OP2 years agoThanks for all the insight and comments.... I just don't have the time or desire anymore to photograph and list my 3 boxes of handbags and a box of collectibles. I am a Realtor by trade and the last 4 years have been crazy busy. Not having really listed anything but a few items from years ago, that I keep relisting to keep my page alive, I have no desire to do this and just want to clear my inventory I have had stashed for years now. I may continue to do jewelry, but not the other stuff anymore.

·2 years agoI did this for someone once, I went to their location and listed items for a flat rate of $15/hour cash. They retained the items and were responsible for sales and shipping, all I did was list, and on their ebay account. I was paid at the end of each session.
I would never do that on my account. I don't list for others anymore, I'm just too busy.
If you think that would work for you try posting a help wanted on Facebook or Craigslist, that's how I found that gig.

·2 years agoOnce upon a time, eBay had the Trading Assistants program, and that didn't work out. T hey later tried again with eBay Valet and that also failed. The fact is that selling things for others has so many problems and pitfalls that very, very few people will do it.
Since you've sold 7.5K items yourself, I doubt that I need to explain those pitfalls to you or to note that it also complicates income tax filings.
If you do find someone, though, be sure you have a clean, clear, detailed, written contract.

·2 years agoThere are so many ways you could get scammed on this 'help' issue these days.
My advice is to do it yourself and not have faith in someone you never knew to 'help'.
If you need help in the pack/ship area, pay a friend to come by and help w/ shipping.

·2 years agoSeconded. Commission sales on eBay are a way of begging for trouble. The person selling on eBay can then get scammed by two people instead of one. Two plus eBay itself some days. The consignment person also has to charge high fees to make it worth his or her efforts, since he or she will only be making at best 50% of whatever profit they'd get selling their own merch.
The short form:
Item plus shipping = $100 (for example)
-15% of total to eBay (in a lot of categories) = -$15
Half of results to consignor = -$42.50
Selling agent nets $42.50 for 1 + hours of work
(anything not selling for at least $50 probably isn't worth the effort. Anything with a high shipping cost, large or heavy, goes into the Donate pile and FAST. Not worth it for any seller unless you're a specialist.)
Headaches of tax reporting on the arrangement - 100% to seller
Headaches from scammy buyers, ham-handed shipping service, eBay screwups - 100% to seller
No individual seller in their right minds works with consigned items on eBay.

·2 years agoThe ebay trading assistant program was discontinued some time ago.
Consignment selling does not work well on ebay in my opinion because of the high fees and the possibilities of a chargeback many months later. ebay fees will run 15% plus then if the seller is to make any money you are looking at 50% fees or more,
