Listings renewing
Summary: clayvitas asked for advice on whether to let eBay automatically relist items or to end and relist them manually. babyers88 and mam98031 recommended automatic relisting, noting it retains the item number and search history. luckythewinner highlighted the varied search behaviors of buyers, suggesting that the decision should be based on seller strategy. albertabrightalberta shared their approach, allowing auto-relist before ending and selling similar after 60 days. fern*wood and funfactorychannel preferred auto-relist, citing simplicity and reduced risk of errors. Overall, opinions varied based on individual selling experiences and strategies.
When listings are scheduled to be renewed for instance today, should I end them and sell similar, should I end and just relist, or should I just let Ebay relist???? Thank you.

·3 days ago · EditedIt's one of those things where everyone has an opinion, but I know of no solid proof that any option helps/hurts that much.
I personally let them relist on their own. I have ended and relisted some in the past, but saw no big difference in my selling rate.
My opinion kicks in when I see all the posts where sellers have duplicates and I can't keep from thinking it might happen when they end/sell similar but forget to delete the ended one which gets relisted by mistake later on.

·3 days agoIMHO you should just let them be if you intend to have them to stay listed. @luckythewinner gave you some great reasons for leaving them alone and just let them relist automatically.
If you are looking for a way to REFRESH your listings so that Ebay has to re-index them on the site. What I always do is use the Bulk Editor and change something on all my listings. The easiest thing to me is the handling time. I will bounce it from 2 days using the bulk editor and then a month or so later I would change all my listings to 3 days. The next month back to 2 days.
It doesn't affect search standings but it does make Ebay have to re-index them which sometimes can result in a few more sales. Also remember to send offers. From your Seller Dashboard the listings you have that are available for you to send offers is shown there. You don't have to give huge discounts, just do what is workable for you. 5-10%, only higher if it works with your pricing or it is something you have been trying to sell for a long time. I do them on Every Sunday. But every month is OK too. I wouldn't do them more often than that.

Some buyers do not watch items.
Some buyers search by newly listed.
Some buyers search by ending soonest listed.
Some buyers search by lowest price.
Some buyers search by highest price.
What you do depends on what you believe is most likely to help.

·3 days agoit's automatic you do not have to do anything, If you end it yourself and relist then it will have a new item number and the old one will show up as. "ended by seller as no longer available".
if you let it auto-renew it will keep the same item number and will retain any history in search's online.
ebay has a extensive online presence, not necessarily under ebay.com either. There are tons of redirect's out there, if your item was cached on one of them then it may disappear or link to the old one if you ended it.
