Listing tool update causes 3x more clicks to remove all pics!?- are we going down this road again???
Yesterday my listing tool updated and now the "picture box" has a new design that is surrounded by a dotted line ands they removed the ultra convenient "Remove all pictures" button from the top right corner.
Now you must hover over the corner to get an "edit" prompt to appear, then click it. That makes a check all box on the other side of the screen show up. THEN you must check that box which makes a delet button show up on the OTHER side of the page that you must click .
Come on- this is just getting completely ridiculous now. We already had this fight with ebay when this tool rolled out 2 years ago to absolute hatred. Why is ebay making it take longer to do SIMPLE tasks again.
It is not industry standard to make a one click feature take 4 clicks instead!
Is the design team getting paid by how many extra clicks they add to the desktop experience? Full time sellers use desktops. All ebay employees use desktops, all companies use desktops to conduct business- we need the listing tool to act like a real tool optimized for business like we used to have with the classic tool.
If we are futzing around wasting time clicking here and there constantly- we are not adding new listings to ebay- what dont they get about that?
BTW- with this update- the tool no longer remembers our calculated shipping options anymore so we have to click in the popup again and add USPS Advantage, USPS Priority, Fedex, and UPS........every time we list- it used to keep those selection on the listing and all we had to do was change the weight and dimensions.
Also it no longer keeps the handling fee or the immediate payment button checked
This update adds at least 15 clicks and another 1-2 minutes to the listing process.....and for what?
steve_stuff
·2 years agoThere is really two new unimproved versions of the listing tool, as shown in post five and seven.
We sell similar our own listings to make new ones. Before this 'update' we got three slightly different versions of the list an item page - one with the small flat rate box in it's correct place - between the envelope and medium box - on the drop down list, another with it at the end of the list after UPS, and one without it showing at all.
The 'small box' deal started two, three years ago when they were fixing the listing tool after messing it up with their improvements and it just disappeared for a few weeks, then came back at the end of the list, then a few weeks after that back in correct place. But listing made when it was gone or at end stayed that way when 'sell similar'
So now we get nine versions - the old one, the new 3 clicks as shown in post #7 and the newer main photo same size as others photos as shown in post #5 - ALL with the random placement of the small box.
We have 'tell us what you think' every day we do listing - a thank you for old good lister and both new ones stink ... and always ending with 'now go fix search'.

OP2 years ago@krazzykats ebay does not view sellers as their customers or they would run the company in a completely different way- they view the company more as a government or social experiment with the sellers as their subjects that need to be controlled and managed

OP2 years ago@wastingtime101 That is so bizarre! Its as if ebay did not trust the 99% of users in the first horrible test group. They are testing it again. Talk about doubling down on bad ideas! I would wonder if it was just someone trying to save their job but i think everyone gets a gold star for trying at ebay lol.
Some ideas are just so universally wrong- they should never see the light of day- at ebay its a semi-constant stream of these ideas that make it to update status and pushed on users without even a thought of consequences or a simple- ask someone who knows first.

·2 years agoThe saddest part @siamjane8 is these changes have to be approved and they spend $$ programming them. They're blowing the budget on making things worse - things that did not need improvement. And the things that do need to be fixed and need improvement, well those get ignored.

·2 years agoI fail to understand why companies implement changes that their customers dislike.
After all, we are their customers, aren't we?
siamjane8
OP2 years agoThe team is definitely messing around with the listing tool because now the checkbox for immediate payment required disappeared and reappeared higher up on the page in the payments section... Insignificant change and does not really matter because sellers either check it or they dont- as long as it remembers what we what so we dont have to check it every time.
Listing tool still does NOT remember my shipping option selections so i MUST click into the popup box and select all 4 options i use and then reorder them back on the main page by clicking 3 dots and selecting "make preferred"....... a simple drag and drop for the desktop would be MUCH appreciated and save time and is easier and more intuitive to use. LESS CLICKS FOR A DESKTOP- we need someone to actually use and design this tool from the perspective of a computer- not a phone.

·2 years agoI noticed that new placement the other day too. That specific change (moving the IPR checkbox up to the payment section) was something I had requested via the Comments form years ago, with no response of course, and now that it's finally been done, I think that's entirely a good thing.
It was way too easy to whiz past the checkbox when scrolling down the page, and since we often recommend here that newbie sellers should be listing as Fixed Price with Immediate Payment Required, this new placement might help to ensure that more new sellers see it and use it without having to learn about it later on.

·2 years agoI've listed a few things over the last couple of days and my listing form switches around. A few were back to old version, a couple were still the new annoying version and one was just weird. Maybe it's because I don't list many sneakers, but when I listed a cheap pair yesterday, the photo blocks had diagrams of shoe angles -- I guess I was supposed to place my photos in the appropriate block, but after I uploaded the first photo, the diagrams all disappeared.

OP2 years agoTHANKS FOR FIXING THE ISSUES LISTING TOOL TEAM!!- Just now this morning, the listing tool is working correctly finally.
1. No issues with the pictures- the delete all button is back ðŸ‘
2. "Immediate Payment Required" button has moved to payment section but is working and saying checked like it should ðŸ‘
3. The shipping section keeps all 4 options in place so we dont have to re-select each time ðŸ‘
4. When you cut and paste into the descriptions the curser is now at the end of sentence like it should be so you can just hit enter and the curser moves to the next line ðŸ‘
Glad its fixed but these issues caused many months of seller frustration and angst. Please in the future stop making unwarranted changes without checking with sellers first- we wont steer you wrong- we just want it to work!
Thanks

You can do this for just eBay if you don't want to clear your whole browser.
Go to any eBay page.

Click "Clear cookies and site data..."
Click "Remove".

OP2 years ago@tx-shopping thanks for the tip! i was not aware that you could clear cache and cookies from the address bar. That should be a daily routine for ebay!
For me it only fixed it only fixed the picture delete button issue though- The listing tool still does NOT remember my everyday preferences like "shipping selections", "handling charge", or immediate payment required".
Why do we have to fight ebay to get a simple industry standard working product?

·2 years agoI haven't read every reply, so forgive me if this has been mentioned already.
In the upper right of the listing page are three tiny dots. Click on them, it asks you to share your opinion on the listing process, or something like that. So, yesterday I was listing & dealing with the stupid new changes, & clicked on the dots to vent & share my opinion. I complained, & moved on to my next item. I then tried to complain again, it says I can only complain once per hour! It used to be that I could complain for every item I listed, & complain I did, over & over. So, I had to change accounts to list on a different one. I tried to complain on that account, nope, it said I had already complained for that hour!
So, the tech dolts must have been tired of folks complaining with every listing about their ham fisted "improvements" & made it harder for eBay sellers to complain about their incompetence!
siamjane8
OP2 years agoI was again lost in frustration yesterday with this situation. I called in an got a very competent customer service agent who was able to research and figure out a few things.
1. he was not able to recreate the new picture situation on his end so he had me log in on a "private" tab and the situation went away
2. This told him that the "new version test" had come and gone but that the cookies on my computer were still "calling" for the crappy version when i was accessing the tool from "sell similar"
3. We did a complete cookie and cache dump and now it went back to the version that has the delete button at the top!
Hopefully it will work for you as well- although it still does not remember my shipping settings or handling charge or immed. payment selections.
Hope this helps everyone out!

OP2 years ago@mr_lincoln @deltilogical
I'll admit- I dont understand how tech folks think- but i do understand that if you make an inferior product or one that does not meet the needs of its users, people will stop using it. Sellers are ebay's only customer (aside form advertisers) , so logically you would want to make your product the most desirable and valuable.
When coke changed its recipe and nobody liked it- they changed it back and called it "classic"
When hidden valley ranch changed there ranch dip recipe- it was horrible. we stopped buying it for 2 years until they finally changed it back- you just don't mess with what works. you make small incremental changes that can be easily reversed if they are not received well! ....... or if you are ebay you randomly make major design and site changes every other week and discourage your customer base from using your product....
deltilogical
·2 years agoYou normal folks don't seem to understand how "tech" folks think.
Their mantra, zeitgeist, purpose for existence is 'Never fix what is in place, demand something new'. Its purposeful planned obsolence.
It is not about meeting the needs of users, it is about meeting the needs of the tech folks and share holders.
I also think it is all being dumbed down for cell phone and app users prioritization.
When everything has been digitized and registered in the blockchain, every feature of the item will already be loaded into the distributed ledger, you'll just need to pay for the right to transfer your rights to sell your rights and it will all be done automatically through the blockchain.
siamjane8
OP2 years agoI agree that thus is all a consequence of dumbing down for mobile. Ebay about as much said so. Its just a shame that the decision was made a few years ago to unify the platform instead of providing an optimized desktop version and an optimized phone app version. In theory it sounded good and easier to manage but what it leaves us with is a bad version of both instead of great version of both. Unifying just lost the benefits of both and highlighted the shortcomings of both.
No doubt it could be done right and work but with ebay we have seen that doing things on the cheap and being lazy about it took precedent. this is what we are left with- basic simple standards being overlooked and ignored. Ebay is failing the needs of its customers when it makes such ridiculously poor design and business decisions.
Obviously companies have to change and move forward and that is not going to be right for everyone but for sellers to be constantly hindered by such basic oversights in design........ its just crazy- lets make them click 3x more to add pictures...i mean who needs to be fired and replaced to get this company back on track?
mr_lincoln
·2 years ago@deltilogical
Actually, I understand how IT groups very well, I watched the birth of them in industry over the last 20 - 30 years and even saw how they "took over" some companies such that any new equipment or production systems that were purchased always had to get the "Okay" from the IT department, who was monitoring everything. So I "get" what you are saying.

·2 years agoI use a system at work where we take payment for a service/item. Once we have the invoice/account pulled up, instead of merely clicking 'make payment' and have the amount autofill on the next screen, we have to copy and paste the amount,THEN delete the $ sign before we can process it. Obviously whoever coded it has never actually had to USE it.

OP2 years agoI guess ebay is moving forward with this time killing design?.... more and more of the local sellers that i know are reaching out and asking if i have seen the new photo design and saying why on earth did they make it take 3 extra clicks.!
I am at a loss for words- there is not a logical reason that i can give them. @kyle@ebay any insight for us- surely the teams have gotten back to you by now with either an "its working as designed" or a "we know there is an issue and are working on it".
Any time frame yet for a fix?
siamjane8
OP2 years agothey are still making adjustments though.... now the delete button shows up when you hit edit but is grayed out until you select the checkbox. also when you delete all pics a button shows up at the bottom asking if you want to undo the action.
At least they are working on it but still- anything that is bloated programming design and causes unnecessary steps to accomplish a simple task in not acceptable- this is true of every platform- desktop OR mobile so i am still not sure how we are in this situation again- there must be design parameters that the design team works within before doing anything......isnt efficiency and flow and simple positive user experience some of those parameters?
I am not trying to insult or demean the individuals that made these changes..... but ebay has the highest fees in the industry- should we not get the best service for those fees? This is a 30 year old multi-billion dollar international company- not a co-op or a startup breaking into a new venture- how is it possible that the most basic word processing and design flow needs are not being met??
Change does not = innovation.....it just means change. For it to be innovative- it must be better or improve on the previous design, not be worse.
modernvintagevibes
·2 years agoGood Afternoon - I also have to do the 3x clicks when deleting from my previous listing which is just a time waster just like the removal of the category suggestions when you enter a title (of which @kyle@ebay was looking into). I hope both of these issues are resolved as they should be working on making it faster to list, not slower.
siamjane8
OP2 years ago@modernvintagevibes i agree- they should be making it faster to list NOT slower. And these issues do not even have a legitimate reason to have been implemented -they are just bad design decisions or oversights or just designers that do not understand how people use the listing tool.
I would love to have a wack at what tools they use every day and make a few "design changes" so they can understand what they are doing to us out here in the real world.
Another baffling change that must be a screwup is that when you cut and paste/ copy to the description body- THE CURSER HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE BEGINING OF THE TEXT COPIED INSTEAD OF THE WAY IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN- THE END OF THE TEXT
This may seem insignificant but in reality as soon as you hit "control V" to copy....what is the next logical step?.... to either continue on OR hit enter to start the next line of the description!
Now when you control V to copy---- and then you instinctively hit enter to start a new line- it just moves your already copied text down a line because THE CURSER WAS IN THE WRONG SPOT! So now you MUST take your mouse and move the curser to the end before hitting enter- its mind boggling!
This is basic industry standard word processing that has been that way for 30 years- why is it now backwards with the latest ebay listing tool update????????????????????????????
siamjane8
OP2 years ago@kyle@ebay any word from the team about why this change and if they understand our concerns or a time frame until addressing the issue? I was listing all day yesterday and this is not something you "get used to"- it is very annoying and productivity killer

OP2 years agoIf i recall correctly... the new mobile platform push from ebay was so that it simplified their IT department and made it compartmentalized into "modules" that fit together like a puzzle to form a complete package so that each design team could work independently of each other and react faster to the needs of ebay's users. Each module- listing tool- shipping section/ listing tool item specifics/ listing tool photo editor/ listing tool promoted listings.....etc etc. are all smaller teams that can respond to the needs of their sections of the larger whole.
In theory - that is a good idea but all of these teams need to work in harmony and in unison to the larger picture. Did someone forget to tell the photo team that there was a huge pushback from the majority of desktop users (who are by far the largest single listing group on ebay) last year when the other teams added click after click to the listing tool flow? The amount of new fresh listings started to plummet on ebay and GMV started to noticeably decline because of the amount of time and effort the unified listing tool took to use- people were fed up with listing on ebay- it was a huge backfire and then it took the better part of a year to redesign the tool and make it more usable on a desktop like the classic tool we had for years.
Where is the oversight. Where is the quality control? Where is the quick response to correct this design flaw? Where is the accountability for making a bad decision? Why do we users ( ebay's customers) have to suffer through poorly implemented bad updates that we dont even want- all this does is cost us time and money, while frustrating us beyond belief.

OP2 years agoeBay design team... Looks like the people have spoken. its pretty clear. Put the listing tool pictures section back to the way it was so we are not waisting time and energy to do simple tasks. Never again make a change that causes desktop users to click unnecessarily
siamjane8
OP2 years agoit would also be nice if when in the edit popup box- you could delete the picture also. This has never been an option since they switched to the unified listing tool. I am sure i am not the only person who has not realized there was a wrong picture or perhaps a bad exposure or blurry picture until they clicked on the edit and it enlarges......it would amazing to just click delete right then instead of having to close the edit box, then find the picture in the list, then click on the 3 dots, then click delete. Sounds really inconvenient when you write it all out doesn't it?- because it is inconvenient.

We've seen extra steps, pop-ups, etc in many areas of eBay's programming, try issuing a Partial refund. It used to be on ONE page, Now it's 4.
The Feedback flow now requires more clicks to see what we want to see and they have put Buyer FB listed as "Most relevant" as the default instead of "Most Recent", with no explanation as to what drives the "Most relevant" order and selection. That's about 4 clicks too instead of 1 ...
Seems like going from 1 to 4 seems to be a reoccurring theme ...
siamjane8
OP2 years ago@mr_lincoln ...... Sounds like the work involved to list an item here takes 4x effort..... But sales are NOT 4x better.
I was talking to a newer seller and she said ebay is the last place she lists. She lists on several other platforms and then uses a cross listing tool to add eBay in after a month if the item did not sell. She noted that ebay takes the longest to list and she would not even bother if it were not for the cross listing tool that does it for her. And she is only 22 yrs old..... Even the young generation does not want to waste time when listing..... And yet eBay is making it take longer with every update..... I don't don't see their end game
siamjane8
OP2 years agoMakes me wonder if some of the design team that was actually working with us sellers to make the listing tool better on a desktop over the past year or so we're some of the ones laid off last month and what is left are the ones that were pushing the phone app experience that backfired so badly when they pushed it on us computer users..... Is this a power play and they are getting back at us for not accepting the slower more confusing listing experience that they wanted so badly?
mr_lincoln
·2 years ago@siamjane8
The 22 year old seems to have a good grasp on the reality of listing items for sale on internet sales venues. I've experienced the same thing. For eBay I use the Advanced listing tool and in the Item Specific area there are some real time killers with completing that section. There are several different ways required to enter data and then the order of the Item Specifics changes, meaning things are NOT always in the same order. It's actually stressful and I have 50 Templates to use because I list a lot of similar items in my categories.
One of the issues with most internet sales platforms is that they do not sell anything, they just provide a space for users. The users do all the work acquiring items to sell, listing them, packing them and shipping them. If a venue is working perfectly then they really have nothing to do other then punch in and punch out each day. eBay has added a few twists in some categories to increase their revenue with profit centers like EIS and the Authentication program. Programming then comes down to how much more time and money can the venues squeeze out of the users. I've stated on more than one occasion that programming should be making things easier not harder, but the trend is clear.
Not sure if the 22 year old lists the same thing on all platforms at the same time but my approach is that I give eBay first dibs on most items and then move things elsewhere if they don't sell fast enough here.
siamjane8
OP2 years ago@mr_lincoln My younger friend uses the opposite method. She lists on other platforms first because their listing tools are simpler and faster then if the item does not sell after a month, she adds it to ebay.
I love being able to support my family by selling full time on ebay- i just wish ebay would stop making it more difficult with every update. there is no need to change the design to something worse. I mean really!? 3x more clicks... and they are all on opposite sides of the page- thats not even simple design flaw or oversight- that almost seems intentionally aggressive designing against traditional computing standards.

·2 years agoI was just getting a bit grouchy about this problem myself. What used to take 1 click now takes 3. Nothing like moving backwards.
siamjane8
OP2 years agodid a few listings today and still cannot for the life of me figure out why they made this bad change!?
They took the most straight forward and simple task and made it more involved and take longer.
Were they trying to mimic phone galleries where you can push and hold until check boxes come up to edit in bulk?? Either way - there is no reason to get rid of the industry standard delete al pics button.
It always was a pain that you could not delete an individual picture without opening it in the edit popup first but its still not much better when you have to click on the 3 dots to bring up a menu to delete it----- what is wrong with a 1 click trash can delete button on the bottom of each pic?
In any event though- when selling similar- it is most advantageous to delete all pics and use your own so why is that harder to do now??
wastingtime101
·2 years agoI never had to open the edit popup to delete a single image. Just hover over it and click the trash can. The trash can icon on single images has existed for a while, and before that it was an 'X' if memory serves.
In one of my posts above, responding to valueaddedresource, I noted her screenshots of the new version showed the trash can icon was removed in this latest update.
Way to make things harder and more time-consuming, eBay! Sellers love you for it. 🙄

siamjane8
OP2 years agoBut seriously... Why. This is just wrong. It's bad. It's more time consuming. It poor web designing. How does stuff like this get through to actual programming stage? Are they using some elementary stop and drag website building app to make eBay?
I seriously cannot figure out how these negative design aspects get approved and implemented. It's just the opposite of common sense.
I guess it's the same mentality that brings us- buying electric cars and charging them with coal and oil lol
wastingtime101
·2 years agoI agree.
I think the people designing and approving these changes do not use the site.
Beyond that, it's clear the people behind these changes are not logical thinkers and have zero clue what selling entails.
wastingtime101
·2 years agoIt's so absurd. The only thing I can see is eBay added "make main image" - so they did not want to add a third star icon to the image and clutter things up. Instead they hid the main image star, edit pencil, trash can behind the 3 dot menu.
Guess what selling team: sellers do not need or want a "make main image" menu option when we can easily drag and drop images into different placements.
Bring back the trash can. Bring back the 'remove all' button. Full stop.
siamjane8
OP2 years ago@wastingtime101 you make a good point about the "make main image" button. That only makes sense on the phone app because you can only see a couple pics at a time on a small screen so you would need that function. It is however irrelevant on a desktop and is infact redundant and clumsy when desktop users will natural drag and drop much faster. The 3 dots are just ridiculous and cumbersome to use.
Again.....we went through this with the design team 2 years ago when they tried all this crap on our desktops....it does not work to force mobile apps on a desktop. Full time sellers NEED a listing tool that is optimized for a computer NOT a phone.
It is getting beyond frustrating to have eBay actually working AGAINST it's sellers like this.
I thought we got it through their heads that people generally use one or the other and we don't need them to be identical... We need them to function as expected for the experience whether Mobile OR desktop.
1. bring back delete all pics button
2. Get rid of 3 dots
3. Put trashcan back on each image
4. Ask actual users before making silly changes. We will tell you for free what we want and need to make eBay great, you just have to listen.
5. Force ALL eBay employees to do there jobs ONLY with a phone and no computers- maybe then they will see how crazy it is to expect us to do it!

·2 years agoSo glad I'm not the only one frustrated by this. So much easier to hit remove photos, drag and drop my group of pics and move on to the title. I'm not saying it's unusable but I've listed 0 of the 10 items I photographed today - just messing with the flow I'm used to. But apparently it was "based upon your feedback!"
Also it doesn't help efficiency that when you change categories, the suggested categories seems to have disappeared when you try to change category after you've put your new title put in.
While I'm venting, why would I want to relist something I just sold? (in 95% of cases anyway) When you're going to ship and click on an individual item - say to see the picture better, making sure you're grabbing the right one off the shelf or something - the "print label" button was changed to "relist?" Print label was actually helpful so you didn't have to go back to the previous screen.

·2 years agoMy guess is they want to make it harder to do sell similar.

·2 years agoHit me last night too, side to side to side. I did keep my shipping options when I used sell similar. I wonder who makes these changes and if the really actually list and sell on ebay.

·2 years agoThis "update" is so annoying and time consuming! Frustrating is the emotion I'm feeling when I go to start listing.

·2 years agoTagging in @kyle@ebay . More feedback on the listing tool. Hopefully you can submit info from this discussion along with the other thread (link) on which I just tagged you. Thanks!

Hey @wastingtime101 you bet! I'll be glad to share this feedback about the photos and the variations with the proper team for review!

·2 years ago@kyle@ebay : I'd be grateful if someone from that "team" would simply get their butt out here to explain why these changes were made, and how they believe they are improvements over what was there before.
What I find most infuriating in general about these unannounced changes is that no one wants to take responsibility for them. They're totally anonymous. There's no one here saying, "Here's why this was redesigned and here's why we think it's a good idea." Things get redesigned for no apparent reason, often by people who (on the basis of their revisions) do not appear to actually use the site, or at least the area that they're actually working on, and no one within eBay wants to talk about it.

I thought it would be a good topic for the "new/improved/enhanced/NON EXISTENT" monthly chat feature. You know like they stated: "we will schedule our chats with eBay staff around timely updates and recent changes."
It is simply not eBay's way. They prefer unannounced changes to the interface where many things look like a glitch, and then seemingly refuse to talk about it at all. Do they have a "tell us what you think" button on those new pages?

OP2 years agoAlso.... Just realized the add video button is gone.... Kinda a major change isn't it?
Also we now have to click add from computer or add from phone.... Extra clicks....if I was on a phone then I would already be on the phone listing tool. Adding from phone sounds like an interesting convenient feature for those that use their phones to take pics but use a computer to list--- but all it does is send a notification to your phone that opens the listing in the phone listing tool. The pics don't actually load over into your open listing on the v computer, So now you are just using your phone to add the pictures to the listing.... Then you either finish the listing on your phone (but why would you start on a computer then?, or hit done and go back to computer to enter data. But pictures won't be there until you close the listing on computer so you don't know if they transported....it's just a link...a feature that is not really a feature if you know what I mean.

·2 years ago@siamjane8 adding a video isn't gone, it's just consolidated instead of being a separate button and you would add it along with your photos.
"Add photos and video. Add up to 25 photos and a 1-minute video or drag and drop."

OP2 years ago@valueaddedresource thanks... I was so irritated by the whole thing, I did not notice it says that lol.... Although this would be a positive change if I could get it to work.... I would love to use a video from my phone but when I choose to add by phone.... It will only allow pictures. No way to access videos on phone. Any thoughts? Am I missing something simple? I have not been able to add video on android for years. It's like they took that feature away along time ago. Or am I doing something wrong? Hahaha s23 ultra running the lasted updates on that app and Google etc.

·2 years agoJust posting to the discussion in general.
After 24 years I no longer sell here. If I did, and the selling interface changed in ONE area, I think I would be opening any and all dropdown menus, and seeing what eBay might have selected for me (to help me sell..LOL) so I could turn them off. I would not want any additional surprises after the fact by something I failed to de-select.
Same goes for any surprise additions to the selling preferences and buyer management pages.

·2 years agoHi @kyle@ebay : We're now at the end of the week. What response have you received regarding these problems with the listing tool revisions? If none, do you have a means of escalating the issue? Thanks!

·2 years agoI don't see the point of the 3 dots on each image. What was wrong with the one click delete we had before?
wastingtime101
·2 years agoThe point was to add a 3rd option which required a 3 dot menu.
The new 3rd option is "make main image".
I think eBay would be hard-pressed to find sellers that want or need that "make main image" option when all we have to do is drag/drop any image we want in the lead.
eBay should get rid of make main image and put the trash can back on each individual photo, and bring back the single click delete all button.
These changes are so frustrating, inefficient, time-consuming, backwards-thinking, and kinda disrespectful to sellers and their time.
toomuchstuffagain35
·2 years agoI totally agree.
But then ebay has ALWAYS disregarded wasting a seller's time & effort.

·2 years agoThe cost of doing business here is a lot higher than listing/selling fees.

First highlighted point ... I don't ever recall threads here from New Sellers asking how to MOVE pictures around once uploaded to the listing tool.
Second highlighted point ... Some theories would include the concept of controlling people by controlling their time in an attempt to make them too busy to do other things. The downside to that concept is those people would go elsewhere to get more of the same thing done in a shorter period of time.

OP2 years agoAt this point i wonder if those teams sit around over coffee and read these posts and just laugh at us/ thinking- we got them again!
I listed about 30 similar items yesterday - it could have been so easy!, instead of painful. Each "sell similar item" resulted in an annoying, cumbersome, time consuming, irritating start to the listing process.
Had it not been for the extra clicks and time to remove pictures, and the fact that i had to select each shipping option again every time (instead of just changing the weight and dimensions), and add my handling charge (because it resets to 0 every time, and check immediate payment box- I could have listed another 10 items. They were all $200 items so both Ebay and myself lost out on $2000 worth of GMV and potential sales for the weekend.
This is basic math and business- we are not re-inventing the wheel- why do the most basic and simple and obvious business principles escape the ebay design teams???? Their answer to "no problem" is to redesign and make the process take longer!!! And its right in the face of those of us that actually use the listing tool and have requested repeatedly to NOT screw it up anymore or make it take longer.
We already had this battle 2 years ago-why are we doing it again?
