Well, many people can read the number with their naked eyes. Evidently you can't.
I'm so visually impaired that to read something with my naked eye (and I have vision in only one eye), the font size has to be enormous.
Most books are printed in 10 point to 12 point type. 10 pt type is 0.138" "high" and 12 pt is 0.166". Large print books for the visually impaired are set in 16 pt to 18 pt type. 16 pt is 0.221" and 18 pt is 0.249".
To read large print books, I must use a magnifier.
And by the way, all caps is very difficult for anyone to read but for those of us with serious visual impairment, it can be nearly impossible at times. But I did what I had to do in order to read your post.
I could ask the world to accommodate ME, but instead I adapt to the world.
Suggestion: invest in a nice magnifying glass - you'll really need one some time down the road. Plus they come in handy when trying to read instructions on a can of spray paint and other mice type print.

PS: What is the opposite of a "naked eye"?
Glasses and loupe at the ready? I'm nearsighted, but some folks who can't read with out reading glasses (I work with beads with 0.5mm holes, if that big, by taking mine OFF) have it tougher. It's not a font size issue per se, but of being able to easily find it.
I was actually looking for a picture of that earlier. Thought there may be a cute cartoon drawing or something. But wow, I had to clear my browsing data after what was presented.
The "naked eye" is an awfully subjective concept. I know some people for whom the naked eye means the number will be this big.
Nope, I still can not read it with the naked eye. If it is on a bill board with six foot numbers I might be able to read it from about ten feet away with the naked eye.

I used to be legally blind but then I had eye surgery. Now I only need drugstore reading glasses.
ETA: After everything had healed up, I wandered in a haze of amazement - even rubbish dumps looked beautiful to me because I could see them without the three pair of glasses I had to use before!

The item numbers are located in several different areas. As far as I can tell it is the same size in all these different locations. Except for the listing page (it is smaller then some text), on all the other pages the other text and the item number is all the same size.

Let me get this straight, you think it would be logical and useful if ebay increased the font size of the item number on listings so that every single person in the world can read it with the naked eye?

I think calling someone rude who simply disagrees with you is rude.

For what purpose does that serve? There are other ways to find an item number, in order details, purchase history, or confirmation email. We really don't know why it's so small...ðŸ˜

·2 years agoWhen viewing a listing on PC the item number is also part of the URL in the address bar.
It's easy to copy and paste the number from there. (Easier for me than scrolling down the page to locate it.)

Ebay messaging will imbed it in a message.
My Ebay will display the purchase without the item number.
Sellers can get to the catalog page from messages or the seller hub.
If it is inconvenient to find or read, so what?
