Leaving feedback
It really stinks that you cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. I understand some of the reasoning behind it BUT there should be a rule that you cannot leave negative feedback without trying to resolve it with the seller and if the seller resolves it then they should not be allowed to leave negative feedback. I had to leave "positive feedback" for this person just so I could add feedback for sellers not to sell to this individual. Her feedback was she didn't like the "scent". It wasn't defective. There was nothing wrong with it, but she was allowed to leave negative feedback. I have worked YEARS to build my feedback up for some person who joined ebay to get "free stuff". This person had a feedback of 2. 2!!!!! It is pathetic that ebay does not protect the SELLERS. Without sellers, there would not be an eBay. There needs to be protection out there for US. How do you leave negative feedback if you just don't like something. This isn't like online shopping where you are just rating an item you bought. You are rating the SELLER. eBay you need to do BETTER to protect us sellers!!!!!!

·2 years agoI agree with you.
If a buyer leaves me a negative feedback, I want leave them a negative too.
That'll teach them.

Why?
Then it would be extortion, I am going to cry until you make me happy? that's not a way to do business, they can leave a negative, who cares, one or 2 negatives don't hurt, accumulate a bunch then it's a problem. You can't change the rules just because you have a problem with a buyer.

·2 years agoTake it easy on your feedback responses. Not everyone in the 🌎 are perfect. We all get those feedbacks where a buyer might not be happy. It is what it is. Us sellers cannot make all buyers happy.
On a lighter note...I had to giggle...do I want to smell like strawberries from a mile away. Maybe she had a cold and couldn't smell herself because of other odors on her body. I don't know.
Just move on and don't let one bad apple(strawberry) bother you.
You are selling and that is what counts.

·2 years agoI am just a buyer. When I'm checking an item that I'm interested in, I always check the seller's feedback. Whenever I see a seller has retaliated in their responses to buyers, I hit the back button. No thank you. I'll buy from someone else.

·2 years agoThe replies you left and the feedback you left for the buyer will hurt you a lot more then then the 2 negatives will.
The buyer should report the feedback you left.

·2 years ago@stacey_webster You're actually out here admitting that you broke a major eBay policy. You can't leave negative wording under a positive for a buyer and I hope that buyer reports you. I don't buy from sellers who leave false positives or sound aggressive because it shows me they have no problem breaking rules and they are unprofessional.
I can't stand when people leave product reviews as feedback for sellers because it's not your fault a perfume smelled terrible... unless it had an expiration date and you knowingly sold it well after the date passed which could change the scent... but I have an even lower tolerance for sellers who come across as retaliatory.

·2 years agoI feel having no return policy ends up this way, especially for newer buyers, because they feel they can't return the item they just don't like which would be covered by having a return policy. Follow-ups to bad feedback are far more important than the initial feedback. These have the ability to really hurt sellers and false positives are just flat out against policy and hurt you even more. sorry, just being honest. Most of us have received bad feedbacks and often don't feel they are fair, but I always try not to make it worse. I want to make myself look good in the end for future buyers.

·2 years agoThe replies you left to the two negs you received show why eBay stopped allowing sellers to neg buyers in 2008, 15 years ago. Sellers name-calling and leaving retaliatory feedback had to end, and soon eBay will have to end allowing sellers to reply to negs with the same sort of attitude.
In both cases, if you had simply replied: "I am sorry you were disappointed, and I would gladly have refunded you upon return of the item" potential buyers would be reassured that you are professional and businesslike. The people who left the negs would have looked unreasonable and difficult to please. As it is, they look okay and you look angry and vindictive.
By the way, the neg about the scent qualified for removal by eBay as a review of the product rather than a review of the transaction .
It's not personal, it's business. Sellers are a dime a dozen. Buyers are hard to attract.
I know you don't want to hear that, but remember that you asked.
