Late Shipment Rate
Howdy folks,
The late shipment rate doesn't make sense. When the weather gets bad, carriers deliver packages late even though they get out of my door on time. Tracking uploaded on time and validated by the carrier shows 100%. Why do I get punished for something I have no control over? What's your thought?

·3 years agoIf you read the whole section on your Seller Dashboard it says this "If you ship on time and upload validated tracking or your buyers tell us the shipment was on time when they leave feedback, you're all set." Meaning that if one or both of these milestones are met, you will not get a late shipment defect.
There is also a spot to click on so you can see a full report of all transaction that you have received a defect on.
Cassini has nothing to do with the Seller Dashboard. Nor does defects under the threshold interfere with your search returns. When your Seller status, seen at the top of the Dashboard, were to drop to below standard, that is when your items are lowered in the search returns. Ad a penalty fee is charged on top of the FVFs in the amount of 6%.

·3 years agoYou do have control. You choose the carrier.
Technically it's YOUR responsibility.
We know it's not your fault but it is your responsibility.
There is no way for ebay to penalize the carrier but they can penalize the seller/shipper.
Sorry.

·3 years agoA late delivery won’t count if you have the tracking validated within your handling time frame. Also, the late shipping metric covers the prior year. The second metric doesn’t require the validation take place within your handling time, but it’s good to get anyway since that helps the first metric. The second metric covers the past three months.

OP3 years agoYou could be right, but I am concerned about how eBay Cassini interprets those metrics in its algorithm. So, I am bit skeptical that the late shipment rate is there for some obvious reasons.
