Last Minute Holiday Shopper
As the time is getting near and the deadline is sooner for online deliveries, I am bracing myself for after Thanksgiving and up until Christmas buyers asking for delivery before the 25th. I guess it is a nice problem to have. I tell them I can guarantee the package will be at the post office by next day (except Sundays and Holidays when they are closed) and they can follow the tracking. Happy Holidays to All and wish good sales for us all!

·8 months agoHistorically I've shut down by the 15th of December - mostly so I can actually enjoy the holidays. One year it was so busy that I actually sold the shirt off my own back.

·8 months agoI did that in 2020 and 2021 just because USPS was having a terrible time. Have not shutdown since though I don't sell many, if any gift type items.

·8 months agoI probably wouldn't need to these days as I'm no longer full-time, but I've generally been out of town over that time period ever since I went to part-time. I don't sell holiday type things, either, but people always need clothing, I guess. 2020 I stopped selling internationally because things were so snarled up.

OP8 months agoI am considering your suggestion of shutting down as any orders after the 15th most likely will not make it before Christmas. Not that I am swamped with orders but it only takes one unsatisfied customer to ruin a reputation. I will build my inventory during that time and reopen with a post Christmas sale.

·8 months agoYou're giving buyers a nice promise – just make sure you're clear. Getting it to the post office isn't the same as delivery.
