Just got hit again with artificial ignorance, Offering to sell outside of ebay
Summary: animal-house-8 expressed frustration with eBay's unclear listing revisions, speculating that links to their other store might be the issue. onefootflipper and theheirloomdistrict suggested removing such links, as these often trigger automated flags. Other participants shared similar experiences, mentioning potential triggers like reused photos or numbers misinterpreted as contact information. Despite challenges with eBay's automated system, animal-house-8 later reported that one of their listings was reinstated without explanation. The discussion highlighted broader concerns about AI's role in managing listings, with some users expressing skepticism about its effectiveness.
Not sure what to do this is the 3rd one, ebay when you appeal never gives an explanation of what in your listing triggered it so I can't fix it,
kinda dum to send you a message saying you need to revise the listing without telling exactly what to be revised.
"Some details in your listings need to be revised, so we’ve hidden them until you can make the necessary updates.
WHICH DETAILS WOULD THAT BE? And people want to run wars with this stuff, we are in trouble.
The only thing I can think of in all my listings at the bottom it has a link to my other ebay store which supposed to be allowed, I think it might be whats doing it, but never get an answer from ebay if that's it.

·3 weeks agoJust had the same thing happen. Turns out the AI read a manufacturer's part number in the description as a phone number, but only tagged 3 out of 5 for the problem.

·3 weeks agoEvery once in a while we get them in like bunches of 2-3 we can never figure out what the heck triggers it so I just end the listing and Re-list it and its fine . Got to love a company thats put its whole business model on AI running the show

·3 weeks agoBut aren't most companies doing that now? Ebay is not a Mom&Pop shop. If you wanted your hand held by real people, expect huge fee increases...

OP3 weeks agoUPDATE 9/15 one of the listings have been reinstated by ebay stating no issues was found with listing. But never said why the listing was removed in the first place since there was zero contact infromation.
I was also able to confirm that adding links to other ebays pages are allowed.

·1 month agoHi Animal‑House‑8,
I completely understand your frustration — I’ve dealt with the same issue. eBay’s automated system hides listings and tells us that “some details need to be revised,” but never explains which detail triggered the flag. Even when you appeal, they don’t provide specifics, which makes it extremely difficult to correct anything.
From my own experience, I’ve found two common triggers:
Links to other stores or external pages
Even though eBay states certain cross‑store links are allowed, their automated review system sometimes still flags them. If you have a link to your other eBay store at the bottom of your listings, it’s worth temporarily removing it to see if that resolves the issue.
Photos reused from previous listings
I once listed an item using the exact same photos from a previous successful listing that sold, and it immediately triggered the hidden‑listing message. After updating the photos with fresh images, the listing passed without any issues. It seems their system occasionally misinterprets and believes that you are trying to sell something that you already sold and assumes that you are trying to scam.
Those are the only consistent patterns I’ve been able to identify. eBay doesn’t tell us what needs revising, which makes the process feel pretty unreasonable, but removing external links and refreshing the photos has helped me get listings reinstated.
Hopefully these steps help narrow down what’s causing the flags on your end. Let me know if you want to compare notes further — this system is confusing for all of us.

·3 weeks agoThe reused photos may trigger a duplicate listing alert, too. eBay AI needs things explained to it like a four year old.

·1 month ago · EditedIt is almost certainly the wording of your link to your other store. I would honestly just remove it from everything, it probably has zero effect other than once a year causing someone to buy something from both stores, want you to combine the shipping but you can't because ebay won't let you do it across stores. That is a major reason why I stopped having 2 separate stores.
I can't even see a reason to be having 2 separate stores, neither one of them is bumping up against item limits or anything.

OP1 month agoIt's in all my listings for years, I'm not going to guess and get hit again, if you keep doing that you may get a suspension, I don't know, never get a real answer.
