Just a request for ebay to expand the EBAY STANDARD ENVELOPE to other categories.
Recently I unlisted quite a few precut automotive gaskets. (IE felpro) Have quite a few more that I will likely never list. The base postage price for ground advantage has exceeded the value of the product. These are flat, made from paper, smaller than a trading card, and perfect for the standard envelope.
I do realize I'm shouting into the void here. I doubt anyone from ebay will ever even give this some thought. Still I wanted to put it out there.

Would this be offset by increased sales...?
I'm guesing numbers were crunched, therefore no change.

·10 months agoConsider selling light weight items in small wholesale lots.
Could even make a variation listing...
Packs of three, and four, and five.
Also, implementing a discount for multiple quantities ordered might work out nicely.

·10 months agoI agree as well they should expend. I have inserts which could go stand envelope but it doesn't qualify. Pay $5 for something that can go for stand envelope is just putting extra cost on buyers but unfortunately it's all on Ebay and the USPS.

·10 months agoStandard envelope is available in the "Everything Else" category. The actual legal terms and conditions of the program DO NOT CARE what is in the envelope at all.
List your gaskets in the Everything Else category and they will ship standard envelope just fine. People will still find them.

·10 months agoIt the gaskets are not a separate category, all of which have the same size and rigidity characteristics, it is highly unlikely that Ebay will extend ESE to that category.
ESE is uses a capability USPS has which is limited to what First Class Mail sorters are capable of dealing with, and exists to utilize the growing excess in capacity in those sorters. First Class Mail is dying a slow death.

·10 months agoI'm not sure you are aware, but there are other options available to you, granted they cost but if you are making a lot of sales every month they may be an answer for you.
One is shipstation.com and the other is stamps.com. Shipstation gives you lots of shipping options and Stamps.com is for USPS & UPS only. Depending if you use Honey.com, they may give you a coupon for $$ off.
But this is a way for you to use USPS 1st class, print your own label, & use USPS for a pickup. I've used shipstation before the price went up & my sales went down and the accounting is incredible. It's a great site and if my sales were much, much more I might use them again. Wish you the best.

·10 months agoI agree, they should greatly expand the items allowed for eBay standard envelope, or even USPS First Class Mail. You could always create your own USPS First Class label, but it is so convenient going thru eBay.
Also, if you won't print a label for above mentioned services please don't allow us to add said services to our listing. It is frustrating to list an item with shipping for eBay standard only to realise I must ship it via Ground Advantage.

·10 months agoI totally agree. I sell/send paper (beading) patterns I created years ago on Lotus and cannot send them digitally as the graphics distort. It's just a 1 or 2 page paper pattern but I have to send it USPS Ground Advantage at about $5.00 to provide tracking info.
