Japanese Gofun dolls
I have about 10 vintage Japanese gofun dolls that I want to sell. Bought them over 10 years ago on Ebay, ranging about $25 each on average. Just looked at what they are now listed at to get an idea of what to ask, and it looks like hardly any are being sold. I’m thinking of selling them as a lot box. Wondering if it’s even worth the time to list them. Seems like vintage dolls have lost their value. Thanks in advance for any insight.

·3 years agoThe more elaborate ones seem to sell for as much as $250, but most are in the $25-75 range.

·3 years agoWhat kind of gofun dolls do you have, though? Gofun refers to white painted or lacquered skin on many kinds of Japanese dolls and puppets. They might be ichimatus, gosho, kimekomi, hina, bunraku, whatever, dolls or puppets. They might be fragile antiques or study dolls made two weeks ago.
You need to be more specific about what you have in order to find and study comparables.

Check those which have sold and get a ballpark price to name. Check to see what they sell the most for - on auction or fixed price (usually things sell for more fixed price, but some more rare examples might be better on auction).

OP3 years agoI didn’t see where there were 107 sold listings. Where is that? I was just scrolling down the pages where they are listed and didn’t see any that even had a bid on them. When I bought mine years ago many had bids. I don’t think they are are popular as they were before, but that’s how many items go.

·3 years agoAnd quite often there is a huuuuuuge! world of difference between what things are listed for and what they actually sell for. Many times sellers and buyers seem to be in vastly different universes
