·2 weeks agoSpeaking for myself only, I have found this to be true every year at this time of the year. End of summer and start of the school year plays a big part in that IMHO. I've been selling for well over 25 years and August has always been my worst month of the year except for 2020.
For me, sales typically start picking back up mid September and then even more in October in anticipation of the Holiday Season.

·2 weeks agoMine is steady, but thanks I guess.

OP2 weeks agoCan I ask what is selling? I'm just providing data. That's all. I know there's a seasonal falloff, but I haven't seen it like this.

·2 weeks ago@osb2593 For me what is selling are model kits and collectible toys that are mostly military planes and trucks.
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoYeah, I would be buying those too. :) Thanks!

·2 weeks agoI think I built just about every model 1/35 armour kit made by Tamiya and Italeri ... MiniArt wasn't around yet. I was going to start building again a couple of years ago, but when I checked the prices for the same kits I built 35 years ago, I couldn't believe it!
A Panzer tank back then was less than $20 ... now they go for over $80.
I'm working on the Tamiya M-42 Duster that I bought several years ago and I have a Revell Trabant on deck.
Best of luck to you with sales 😎

·2 weeks ago · EditedMy main category, vintage picture postcards, is flooded with lazer printer reproductions and copies. Its a junk sale. As a buyer, it is annoying. Its annoying to have to constantly ignore and I don't casually shop much like I used to.
I guess its good for my Ebay store, if people drill down in it to avoid the Search function, since I don't sell lasercopies. There are a couple other market places people are using, they probably think they will get away without 1099s and they probably will.
With the never ending crushing gas price increases and food inflation, It doesn't look good.

OP2 weeks agoI really like your store. Can I offer a suggestion? I would offer a buy one, get X sort of thing. Postage is eating your lunch. So you need someway to compete with antique shops that can sell these for a $1 or 2. I'm now off of social media. I used to work for the person I refuse to name and is now a major problem. I just can't argue with people anymore online about it. Maybe someone who insufflates Adderall and rages all not isn't the best option to lead a nation. That's all. I hope things improve for all of us.

·2 weeks ago · EditedI want to see IMPRESSIONS in my Listings Page, not Views. That is a more important metric. To see Impressions under Performance -> Traffic is extra waste of time. This metric should be right where my Listings are active, like they used to be. That way we know who and what is looking, not a fake number like views. It is all about control.

OP2 weeks agoThis is outside data from Ubersuggest. SEMrush is showing the same. This is more of an observation of consumer behavior. I'm not complaining.

·2 weeks agoeBay traffic has fallen 50% yet my sales have only fallen 15%.
Should I consider myself lucky?
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoThat's really good for a September slump!
grann-4629
·2 weeks agoWell, maybe not lucky, but have you ever been to Vegas just in case? 😎

·2 weeks agoMy impressions do not correlate with my sales.
My views do sometimes.
When my external views surge, so do my sales.
The aggregated Ebay traffic is unlikely to be meaningful to my sales.
And someone's estimate of Ebay traffic is probably aimed and getting subscription fees from people who won't get any value from the data.

·2 weeks agoJust out of curiosity ~ what % of your sales are $1-2 cards?
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoIt's definitely the golden age of sports cards. I think people can stomach a small purchase right now over other items.

·3 weeks agoI can't tell if you are complaining or just making a general information statement.
Whichever, you are saying "traffic", not "sales", which doesn't surprise me. There are so many places online to shop nowadays, it's hard to look at all of them.

·2 weeks agoI think they meant for this to be some sort of mic drop, LOL.
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoIt's just a general statement. I'm not getting rich off ebay.
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoI'm not a big seller. This is just an observation.
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoYeah... I've had an account with ebay since the beginning, so I've never look at competitors. My loss, I guess.

·3 weeks agoMy "traffic" according to listing views has been pretty stable for the last 2 years. As someone asked, where did you get that data?
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoThe graphic is from Ubersuggest. But, it's the same on SEMrush and other tools. This goes beyond the typical seasonal drop.

·3 weeks ago · EditedThat's terrible!
Maybe you should remove your 26 listings.
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoI'm not a big seller. Obviously. This is just a heads up. It is becoming a problem because I have a Liberis loan. Things that I used to sell at $50 in a day are now sitting for months at 20% off. More of a statement on the economy than anything else.
tobaccocardyahoo
·3 weeks agoAnd the source of that data is?
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoFrom Ubersuggest. I was in marketing so I have all the tools.
vintage-camerastuff
·3 weeks agoIt hasn't fallen for me.
osb2593
OP2 weeks agoOne thing that's strange is that I used to be able to sell a Polaroid SX-70 (the iconic/not folding variety) for $50 fairly easily. Now I'm struggling to sell it for $40 with film and free shipping. It is bizarre. Maybe interest has waned.
grann-4629
·2 weeks agoI remember when the SX-70 came out ... it was almost like a miracle had happened similar to when the cell phone was made available to anyone. Sad to see these cameras sitting around with no interest ... especially with film included. Best of luck to you 😎
