It's clear that eBay does not look into listings reported. Website, retail store info, etc.
I have reported several times an eBay seller for listing violations. I would just like for every seller to play on the same level field or at least follow the rules. I don't report many listings, probably a couple a year. This seller has one photo in all of their thousands of active listings that show their retail store front, store hours, full physical address, phone numbers, email address, and website. The eBay AI bots found every report to have no problems. So, I will begin doing the same, although I don't have a retail store. My business website, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. It's a shame that some play games with getting around the rules that we all have to abide by, but it's even more of a shame that eBay does not enforce them. My rant - now stepping down. Thanks for the two minutes. Recommendation - don't waste your time reporting anything. No one cares at eBay.

·2 years agoI found about a 50/50 chance they will pull down a listing. Recently I found a seller passing off unauthorized tshirts of my friends band. They have a small cult following. The seller has three different accounts selling them. I got them all pulled down.

·2 years agoI started a similar post before I saw this...I'm gping to bump it up, this is one of the most egregious, flagrant abuse of e-Bay policies and need to be corrected. Before ya' all think I'm a nitpicking a-hole let me tell what my motto is, what my life philosophy is all about..."Live and Let Live:
I've never left a bad review even when it was merited, I just don't believe in ruining someone's day just because it's in my power. When I used that " other" site, you know , the big river, I had a customer give me a one 1 out of 5 because I dared suggest she leave feedback if she was pleased, she wrote that I spoiled her shopping experience and treatened me to call my I.P. if I dared insist...it's sticking in my craw to this day!! What this guy is doing is obscene, listing multiple of same item just to see my and other listing disappear from the head of the line, no picture, no details etc...How they do it I cannot fathom, the bot start screaming if I leave out the smallest detail! So, here I go with a big bump!!

OP2 years agoSelf checkout? I must have missed that in my OP. Self-checkout is a "job"? Strange.

·2 years agocheckout clerk is a job that the big stores are intent on having customers do for free much like ebay has done with customer support and policing listings

OP2 years agoI misunderstood as I read "self checkout". I would agree with you, though. Companies charge more so they can do less for you, the customer. That is the way. Have a good one.

·2 years agoSomeone on here had stated that it's better for many sellers to report listings/sellers than for one to continually report them. It seems you get more action if it is reported by more than one.

·2 years agoCleaning house for listing violations is the last thing eBay is worried about right now. The company is showing signs of financial distress which includes mass lay-offs, under performing stocks, and large sell-offs by investors, including major Chinese shareholders. And yes, China has a significant stake in eBay.... as if we didn't already know that.

OP2 years agoYour statement actually reinforces my point of why eBay SHOULD be enforcing its rules against sellers trying to sell off eBay by inserting their retail store name, address, phone numbers, email addresses, and non-eBay websites. Thanks for your positive reply.

·2 years agoBreaking the rules because everyone else is doing it and nobody is doing anything about it hasn't worked out great for me in the past, and I had to learn the hard way that I have to follow the rules while everyone else gets to break them. And no, it's not fair but that is the way it is for me, apparently I was born under some unique set of rules that apply only to me, c'est la vie.

·2 years agoRadar detectors work because those using them slow down when they detect radar .
So traffic is slowed.
Which was the whole point.
EBay does not act on single reports from single members.
That member may be a competitor, a vigilante or a mischief maker.
Making multiple charges against a single member is not going to improve the chances that the member will be reined in.
What you need is to organize a few dozen members who feel as strongly as you do to make Reports.

·2 years agoThe whole point of buying and using a radar detector is to avoid getting a speeding ticket. Your point of slowing traffic down is from a police view and not the driver's.

OP2 years agoThe world is all about risk. At my age, I care less. However, I am still amazed at the drivers who get pulled over for speeding. Radar detectors have worked for me for 50 years. Don't be afraid of risk.

·2 years agoI think anyone using radar detectors are like people who carry car break in tools or lock picks. You are not carrying those things around with good intentions of following the law. If you have a radar detector, you should lose your license. You obviously plan to drive faster then the speed limit.
Then the irony of someone who breaks the rules of the road where people can die, is complaining about another seller breaking the rules about off site advertising. You live in a glass house, yet you think it's a good idea to throw stones. If you had any rational thinking skills, you would see you have no problem breaking the rules, you are in no position to complain when others break the rules.
oldwestcoins
OP2 years agoYour logic is flawed. To educate you - using a radar detector is not against the law in most states. Yet I should lose my license for NOT breaking any laws? Seriously. If you checked, you probably break the law every time you drive. Not a complete stop, not using a blinker, driving too slow in the left lane, etc. I have not gotten a ticket or had an accident in 50 years. I highly doubt most drivers can't state that. Life is full of choices. Each person is entitled to make their choices without anyone telling them differently. At least that's how I live. I find it comical that a few people have replied in a "Karen-like" manner to my simplistic post. So the fact remains you are factually incorrect in your reply assuming that one should lose their license by using a radar detector. Please stay in your lane.

·2 years agoDo you know your speedometer may not be as accurate as you may think. From the factory speedos have a + & - accuracy used to be + or minus 3 mph (or a 6 mph variance. All tires are not of the same rolling radius, tire i wear and inflation will cause in correct actual readings Bought a new 1983 Pontiac got 3 tickets within 3 months period for speeding - all original tires. Had speedo checked it was off by 15 mph at 60 mph on a certified dyno test. Ever since then I do +5 over the posted speed limit - my insurance hasn't been canceled or gone up above normal

·2 years agoThat why a state trooper can only pull one speeder at a time among the many speeders going with the flow. Every once in a while it could be you - it happened to me. On the main road from Pittsburgh, PA to Altoona long arm of the law would pull multiple cars over for exceeding a down hill speed limit of 35 or 45 mph ya' had to brake all the down hill then climb back up on the other side. Never Say Never
