items not showing in search after an excess of 24 hours
I am new to selling, and have multiple listings posted to sell which some are now on the 3rd day since listing. I am already being charged for the listing, which includes the advertising fees, and none of my posts are showing in searches. I have already went through all the issues which indicated were recommended yesterday, and still nothing showing up. Is there something else I need to do?

·2 years agoHi, Not seeing any listings for you from here in N.J. Signed up for Managed Payments & provied eBay with an approved checking acct. #? - I have heard that that may hold things up. good luck.

·2 years agoMy very first listings took like 36 hrs to show up ... over time, with experience, eBay lowers your "indexing" time or the time it takes to become publicly visible. 36 hrs, 24 hrs, 12 hrs, few hrs, 1 hrs, 15 minutes, 5 minutes etc... Not necessarily fixed or incremental times or milestones to hit to reduce indexing time, it varies definitely but overall those are general examples you could expect.
now it takes my listings 2-5 minutes to show up, literally listed a "hot" item yesterday and got offers within (no joke) 2 minutes of listing. Verified by comparing listing & offers time stamps LOL. Some people on here will claim nothing ever indexes in ~5 minutes but I never have anything take longer than ~5 minutes to show up

OP2 years agohave you had any experience with them ONLY showing up if you search the ITEM ID#? And not being visible by exact title or even similar title searches?

·2 years agoIt's listed,
https://www.ebay.com/itm/204789796342
I see no revisions, shipping seems correct.......don't know why it isn't showing........
lol, it even shows up in "recently viewed items", after I put the item # in search and it doesn't show there.

·2 years agoThere's an upcoming charge amount for your account ending in 4149 for $25.63 that we wanted to tell you about. You will see this charge after 3 days. It will appear on your account as this:
ebay C-170105860425
If, you have any funds available, or processing from your sales, we will use them first. Otherwise this charge will appear in your bank account.
Was this in your Messages or was it an email to your personal account?
Did you add Reserve to any of your auctions?
Reserve is another expensive and useless option, like PLAdvanced. Your opening price is a Reserve in that no one can bid less, and it is free.

OP2 years agoit came to my messages on eBay and my personal email account

You have 250 FREE listings and Promoted Listing Standard fees are only charged when your PL item sells.
PL has an Advanced version which charges fees when the item is viewed- as I understand it- and if your item is not listed, it cannot be viewed, so there would be no charges. Never use it.
Are you sure you listed on eBay?
Your listing does not show on eBay Canada either.

OP2 years agoyes, ebay.com on the same profile I am using here to make these messages. It is the only ebay account I have.

·2 years agoYour account is to new for listings to show up immediately. It takes 2 days for them to show, even then. Beware if they send you a reactivate message where they want you to contact them to reinstate it.
Any other accounts older than a month tend to have listings show up immediately. Not always, but it is like 80% of the case.

OP2 years agoand the auction timer still counts down before they are listed? 2 of the items were listed on Monday morning and still do not show up.

OP2 years agois there another option? I don't do Facebook

How about twitter? There is an eBay business page as well, but I don't have the link. You could always google it or perhaps someone here can post it for you.
brightlightbookseller
·2 years agoThe link for that is just https://www.twitter.com/ebayforbusiness

·2 years agoYou don't have to "do" Facebook, just set up a profile without any real info (except you'll have to give a real email address, but it can be a temporary or anonymous one) in order to do the chat with eBay. It's a great option and gives you good people to talk to so they can see if something is wrong in your account.
I see the item you gave us the item number for if I manually pull it up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204789796342 but not if I search for it, and when I click the link for Seller's Other Items from that page nothing comes up, so something is configured wrong in your account somehow (maybe you, maybe eBay, hard to tell). Being only 2 days old might be the issue, they could still not have fully enabled the account, though theoretically they shouldn't let you list if that was the case (but it's eBay, it's entirely possible). I'd contact them via Facebook or Twitter and see what you can find out.

OP2 years agoHere is a copy/paste of the body of the email I received last night about the fees. And yes, that link does show all of my listings as active.

·2 years agoCan you give us the item number(s) or one or more of them so we can see what we can find about them? We may not be able to see anything, but sometimes that gives us a clue.

OP2 years ago204789796342 1949 Merriam Websters New Collegiate Dictionary Thin Leaf

·2 years agoThat item shows up.
When was it listed?
katiescloset2011
OP2 years agothat particular one was yesterday morning. It will not show up, at least not for me, even when putting in the exact title with copy/paste and definitely not with a similar item title search, I went through every page of listings for webster dictionary and it is not there. even when I put in the year of 1949

·2 years agoMost listings wouldn't have any charges except optional upgrade fees until after they sell, but if you used Promoted Listings Advanced, those could have been charged already (I never use it, but it's pay-per-click, not paid at selling time, AFAIK).
That said, if your listings aren't visible, and since you're in the US according to your profile, you may have done something wrong, or they may have trigger additional review. In addition to what others suggested, do you see them if you go here? https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active

·2 years agoYour profile says you are in the US.
I dont see any listings for you.
Did you read about selling and all about listings on the right of the page?
Are your listings set up to ship correctly?
Are your listings on .com (US) site or another site?
katiescloset2011
OP2 years agoYes, I read literally everything before I began the listings to try and evade any issues before I even began.
They are set up with 3 days handling as recommended, and ship through USPS with "calculated shipping costs" to anywhere in the world (i assume as I did not indicate any specific regions).
And they show in my board of listed items as active for eBay.com

I'm not seeing anything as well. You've been on eBay for 2 days as your ID shows. Did you sign on for managed payments to be paid? That might have something to do with it.
katiescloset2011
OP2 years ago2 are listed as auction and 4 as buy it now with offers. Everything on my end says they are listed. I have not made any edits in over 36 hours. I made the first post on Monday morning for my local time and now it is Wednesday and not even the first 3 posts are available.
katiescloset2011
OP2 years agoI am not exactly sure what "managed payments" are. But I did go through the process of verifying all of my information and submitting my method to withdraw funds to my bank after each sale.
ckimodog
·2 years ago@katiescloset2011
eBay managed payments is how sellers get paid. If you remitted your bank info you should be good to go. However, I am still not seeing any listings as others have replied. Can you send us a item number and post it?
katiescloset2011
OP2 years agoI posted an item number and listing name in a reply to Ken's Gift Shop where he says he can see it listed. I tried the search by item number and have just went through 10 pages of items, which was all the results listed at 60 per page, and still have not seen it. I even logged out and did a guest search and found nothing. I went through everything on my profile and listings and it all says I am active. And the auction counter is even now down to 5 days without anything viewable.

·2 years agoI'm not seeing that you have anything listed. It could be that the USA is not a country you ship to, so it wouldn't be visible to me if so.
katiescloset2011
OP2 years agoThey are listed as available in the United States and to ship through USPS with 3 days handling. Everything on my end says they are listed, but nothing shows up except on my own listed items page.
katiescloset2011
OP2 years agodo you happen to know how to load a profile picture on my profile? I actually have a logo, as I also operate a Shopify and Etsy store, but cannot figure out where to load it.
