If I have 6 of an item is it ok with ebay if I list 3 on ebay and 3 on another shopping site?
I'm not sure I saw an answer to this question as I would have answered.
If you have 6 of an item, you can list all 6 on all sites.
But the most important thing is to stay right on top of your listings and if one item sells on a particular site, you need to immediately (or as quickly as possible) reduce the number available on every other site where they're listed. If 2 sell on another site, reduce the number on every other site.
The last thing you want is for someone who needs 18 of them to buy 6 from ebay, 6 from site #2 and 6 more from site #3 because you weren't quick enough to end listings.
We posters often tell others that their item would be better suited to Craigslist or to FB Marketplace, especially if it is bulky and expensive to ship.
Or we might mention etsy if they are selling handmade goods or for collectibles a specialized hobby site like HIP.
But that is in discussions of marketing.
What we are not supposed to do is to put a listing on eBay, refuse to sell or ship from eBay and direct any customer who finds us through eBay to another site.
We can put a business card for that other site into our shipment though.
You seem to want to share limited or zero details, which makes it VERY hard for anyone to help you. I realize YOU know what you are getting at, but the rest of us just end up guessing or assuming stuff, which is really the worst way to get advice if you want it accurate.
An "eccommerce web store" is extremely generic. Are you talking about your Ebay store or some other store you have on another site?
Not sure it's OK with eBay for you to direct buyers to an off-eBay site.
It is absolutely NOT ok to direct buyers OFF Ebay to another website to buy the item. That is a quick way to seriously affect the health of your selling account. That is a pretty serious breach of the rules.
If you list an item on Ebay, it will show up in your Ebay Store. There is NO option for it not to. IDK why you would list something but not want to sell it. Why do you need to show an Ebay link to an Ebay listing? More details please.
I would ask, WHY do you have a store? You don't need one yet. If you have a Basic Store or above, it is a waste of your money until you are regularly running 300+ listings per month, every month.
Why would you think Ebay would have any control over that? Ebay can only control what is or isn't on their site. Many of us here sell on multiple sites. Just make sure you have inventory to cover everything you have listed on all sites you are selling on.
@cmyers1994 you can list 100 on 100 sites- doesn't matter to ANY of the sites.
What matters is; can you 'fill' the orders??
If you can't- ALL venues will be VERY unhappy with you and do things from 'nothing' to 'permanently banning' your selling account (that means Forever!)

Ebay has no issues when you direct buyers to your eBay store or listings from anywhere. It’s just can’t be the opposite.

Immediately.
Before you even ship the sold one.
Right away.

·1 year agoYes you can list all 6 anyway you want. But don't list 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 etc. because you only have 6.

·1 year agoA: Yes.
You can list 1 on ebay and 5 on another site.
You can list 2 on ebay and 4 on another site.
You can list 3 on ebay and 3 on another site.
You can list 4 on ebay and 2 on another site.
You can list 5 on ebay and 1 on another site.
You can list 0 on ebay and 6 on another site.
You can list all 6 on ebay and all 6 on another site.
...or any combination thereof.
