Meaning if I have a 1 day handling time, I can get a package purchased today right now, and not be required to ship it till tomorrow (my Saturdays are checked as a business day in eBay). However I have a shipping cutoff time specified in the listing (if they even read the listing) so that buyers know that I can mail out a package the same day they purchase, providing they purchase by that time that day.
With same day shipping, that can put you into a bind in some cases. Since I don't use that feature, I'm not sure just how harsh it can be regarding actual shipping time provided for the seller. When do they consider the day too far along to ship that day for example? What if the shipper has a time of day that packages go out? I never looked into using same day, felt it would cause too much pressure and could get me dinged.

Yeah that page is where I have the cutoff times set. So that handles the same day shipping only, or does that govern all shipping in general for establishing shipping times, even if its a 1 or 2 etc day and not same day?
@gator08041971 From my testing, and from other reports that I’ve seen, it appears to change the cutoff time, no matter whether you have the same day handling or even if it was two business day handling. So for instance, if your order cut off time on that page is 2 PM, and you have two business day handling, an order that came in at 3 PM on Monday should be required to ship by Thursday if I’m doing my math right in my head, instead of Wednesday, as it would’ve been if it came in at 1 PM on Monday.
At least now they show a ship within 24 hour message once you are within that last day. I had an item sell last night, and right after midnight, the 24 hour message showed up. Meaning it needs scanned by the carrier by midnight today. Which it will be, as its sitting in my mailbox right now waiting for the carrier to pick it up. lol My driver scans as soon as they take the package. But then my local post office people do a real good job here. Its where it travels and however many hands it goes through that can be the problem sometimes. lol
Everyone saying there are settings to control that are correct, though the page is a bit confusingly worded since it looks like it’s primarily about same day handling but the settings affect handling times regardless.
I think somewhere in settings you can CHOOSE to have Sat be considered a 'business' day. I think ebay was trying to encourage sellers to do that at some point.

I think you're right. The point I was trying to make was that once you're into the weekend (that is, past the close of business on Friday), you have until close of business on Monday to get stuff done within the same "business day."
Our local PO has Saturday front desk hours until 1:00 p.m. and final collection from the lobby drop box at 5:45 p.m. It's pretty satisfying to get something scanned in (either at the front desk or using the lobby Self-Serve Kiosk) on Saturday so that it will be traveling over the weekend, and the package usually clears Chicago on its way to wherever by Monday night.

I'm lucky with mine as well. The actual PO has 10-2 hours on Saturdays and if I miss that cutoff, I can take them to the dropoff by 4pm and they get scanned in that day.
I have 2 day handling, but I try to get as many out on Sat (that are actually due out Mon/Tue) as I can, which keeps me ahead of the curve plus lightens the load on Mondays. Then Mondays I try to get the rest that are due out Mon/Tue/Wed done.
