Item INR but customer found item after refund. I'd like to be paid.
A buyer bought a Pokemon Platinum cartridge I listed from eBay auction. After tracking showed item was delivered, buyer states he never found it. Trying to be good at customer service, I refunded for the item. The next day, buyer states he found the "lost" package. But the INR request is closed. I contacted eBay support, they recommended him repaying through PayPal. Buyer does not have PayPal. I'd like to be paid, since he did get the item. Said I could resist the item, and he'd buy it again. Is this a good option, or should I just accept I probably got scammed, and I'm out what the buyer paid for, then got refunded?

·2 years agoIf the buyer saved your packaging or packing slip, he could put a check in the mail to you - that is, if he is over 35 and knows how to write a check.

·2 years agoYour buyer if they are willing to repay you can probably use PayPal without needing to open an account (not 100% sure about that). If they give you their email address you could send them a PayPal invoice which they can pay from (probably without an account).
Another alternative is to create a new listing for them, make it Local Pickup, they can buy and pay and you can just mark it as picked up. It would be all good with eBay because they would get the fees that were refunded to you when you gave the buyer a refund.

Edited post...You should have uploaded tracking showing the item was delivered, you would not needed to refund. You basically gave the item away.
The buyer is under no obligation to pay for the item even though it would be the right thing to do.
Relisting the item for the buyer to buy , would work in theory but it won't stop someone else from buying then you would have to cancel for out of stock and receive a defect.
You can write it off as a loss on your income taxes.

OP2 years agoMaybe "scammed" is a bit harsh. That's what I thought as well, as far as relisting

·2 years agoHow about if the OP relists the item with a ridiculously high price and make an offer enabled and local pickup? The buyer could make an offer, the seller could accept it and the buyer could pay.
