Item canceled by ebay 125917968747
My auction was canceled by ebay for not following their ivory-producing animal policy. My item did follow their policy and was not from an ivory-producing animal. They were the tusks for a common boar hog, just like the over 100 other auctions on ebay right now. I was told not to relist the item.

·3 years agoSell it elsewhere. I got suspended 3 days for relisting an item that ebay stated I can't sell here. I thought they must've made an error. I rewrote the entire ad with no photos and it was shut down again and I was given a 3 day mini vacation. I could not list anything nor edit anything for the 3 days. So either sell it elsewhere or toss it out and toss it in a box and put it away .

·3 years agoJust avoid the trouble and sell that particular item on Facebook or Craigslist. I don't think it's a good idea to try to push the issue and relist it again.

·3 years agoIt is possible your listing was reported because someone thought you were selling ivory, and the ebay grand poobahs agreed.

·3 years agoHi @wickedvibrations-us Sorry for your trouble. You mentioned the animal parts policy, which i have added the link to below. There are some specifics in the policy that could have flagged a listing, if it was missing, like this one:

·3 years agoYes, I was recently flagged for selling a video game with "eBook" in the title (a childrens learning cartridge)
Imagine my difficulty explaining to eBay customer service that the physical real world item called Mater's Tall Tales eBook did not break the policy on digital only items. I just have to list these items and call them a book instead!
I really thought eBay would be interested in this exception to their eBook rule, but I was wrong - and customer service never understood the problem after an hour of talking about it.
My guess is that your competitor who is preferred seller by eBay has flagged your listing and you get the error. Try flagging every listing as violating the rules and see who is left and that is a protected seller. thanks

The word "ivory" probably set off the bots and that's why it was removed. Suggestion: Don't relist them. Once something has been removed it's just not a good idea as your listing is under the radar and they'll take it down, not to mention restrict your account for a few days. I know you don't want that to happen. And just because there are others listed, it only means they haven't been caught...yet. Don't relist.

OP3 years agoThe listing had been running for at least 2 months as a buy it now or make an offer. I don't know why they just now decided to cancel it. I did not have the word ivory in it, because they were not. They were just tusks out of a boar hog that was mounted on a wooden plaque. The hog tusks were even bought on ebay a few months ago and I mounted them on a trophy board that I was selling.

·3 years agoHow did you write the listing? If we had an example of that maybe, we could dig deeper into what the key phases are that cause the listing to be canceled.

·3 years agoDon't relist them. Are the others being called boar tusk or did you call them ivory or the color ivory? People have got their listing pulled for using ivory as a color of fabric.
