ISBN excess information
Is there a way to enter ISBN # without getting all the reviews and synopses, etc. which go on forever and ever?

OP1 month agoThere does not seem to be a way to do that

·1 month agoI could have sworn I've done that before, but maybe not.

·1 month ago@skamperoo Are you really sure that you want to enter an ISBN code?
Most of the ISBN codes in the eBay catalog contain incorrect information, making the ISBN code worthless.
It is better to enter "Does Not Apply," rather than to enter an ISBN code.
And I hope that you are aware that ISBN codes are not "written in stone" -- book publishers frequently delete ISBN codes whenever a book title stops selling, or when a new edition of the book is to be reissued, or when a book title is being recalled, or for multiple other reasons. Months later, that same identical ISBN code may be issued by the same publisher (especially if it is a HUGE publisher) for an entirely DIFFERENT item.
ISBN codes on eBay are worthless.

OP1 month agoI always check to see if it is the correct book, publisher, edition, etc. A funny thing I have found is that the number of pages is nearly always wrong. If the info is correct it helps with listing but have decided that maybe noting the ISBN in the description is the way to go.

·1 month ago@skamperoo Yes. When you enter the ISBN and come out of that ISB [item specific box], on your screen pops another box that tells you about whatever it is that ISBN is for. Look to the bottom of that little box, see pic below. Click on the Cancel button and all that stuff plus the description will NOT appear in your listing.

@skamperoo
Just for the sake of clarification, the initials "ISBN" are short for "International Standard Book Number."

·1 month agoYes, it is a pretty common acronym. UPC if you prefer. Universal Product Code.

OP1 month ago · EditedI know that but had hoped there was a way to keep the good info and do away with the lengthy reviews, synoposes, etc. that show up when the listing is completed. It does not show up on that screen you showed.
