Is this TRAINWRECK of an ebay site going to ever work correctly?
Totally unbelievable how bad this site runs these days. Ever since the promoted listings started, it has ruined ebay. Sales are basically non existent, compared to before promoted listings, even though constant listing, and listing. Sales should be growing, not going away. Seems like sales are somehow being suppressed, and not sure why i feel that way, but i do. My sales were constant, daily for years, and suddenly, they have dropped off a cliff. Not a good thing EBAY.. Stop changing crap and let the site work for once.

You might feel that way because it is easy and places all the fault on eBay and none on your listings, your prices, your competition, your inventory choices, or your business model.

·3 years agoNever used promoted listings and haven't sold anything since 3/16.
Almost everything I currently have listed end's on Sunday 4/2. I plan to shut down for a while while I delete several items, and then on all the others I will make sure the every title has a very detailed title, set the price as low as I am willing to go and make sure the shipping cost will cover packing material, e-bay fees and so on.
Then I will put them in the scheduled bucket. Then I will review everything currently in the unsold and drafts bucket and do the same thing.
When everything is done and I am satisfied I will relist everything for another attempt at selling them.
I also found some more items bought from 50-60 years ago that I will add to the list. Maybe this will help me to sell something.

·3 years agoBeen doing this 21 years and the last year and half has been a nightmare. Server errors and thing(s) wrong almost daily. I had two days last week surprising that I got no errors or issues and did my normal $800-$1000 days. Every other day I am fighting with issues on the site. I just want to sell stuff, I should not have to worry about this big mess the website has become.

·3 years agoI had six sales in six weeks to start the year (for a total of $3600+) when I first ramped up my number of listings, then, as soon as I began vocally criticizing the pay-to-play idiocy, it was like the switch went off.
Not a sniff of a sale the past six weeks+.

OP3 years agoi truly believe ebay has a set amount of money they will allow you to make depending on how much your items in your store are valued at.. It's all some "algorithm" or whatever they call it. I honestly believe that.. Once you hit that threshold, they turn you off.. It happens every month, like clockwork. I wish the old ebay would come back, where sales were not constantly being held back.. Ebay says they dont do this, but it's blatently obvious, when you are on ebay for over 10 hours a day. You see the patterns, and right now, things are the worst i've seen them ever.

·3 years agoMost of what you sell has an exact name and an exact customer who needs that exact item. I would not be using promoted listings at all in your store except for the hats, what you want to have on all those power cords and docking stations and such is the best shipped price.

OP3 years agoI have never once used promoted listings.. Ebay will never get me to pay more to sell something, i'm not playing into their bankrupt game.

·3 years agoYup, switch turns off for days, store goes silent. Switch goes back on, store gets sales. But not that many.

You have sold over 500 items in the last 90 days. There are many sellers on this board that would literally die for that many sales! Your selling on average almost 6 items per day.

OP3 years agoI have alot of good nitch items, yes, i have sales, and they are not where they should be.. they should be easily double what i am selling daily. I've been at this 20 years.. i know the flow and how the site works.. something is bogging sales down, and it is not the economy. ITS EBAY.

OP3 years agoWith the amount of people leaving ebay, and the horrible site issues daily, ebay will not be around much longer at this rate. I absolutely hate promoted listings, and i really believe that is what will end ebay. They are pushing it so hard because that is all that is keeping them afloat. Without it, you can bet your bottom dollar they would not be around anymore.
