Although, disappointingly, it does not include the TRS+ rating (well, OK, that little blue flag to the left of my name is the designation but how many buyers know that?)

Most of the time it shows the item is located in the US, but shipping from China.

They need to get rid of those sellers but they won't because they are in China.

OK. But from the point of view of transit time and availability of returns isn't where the item is located more important than here the seller is located?

At the risk of beating this to death. I don't care where they are registered.

I purchased a major solar system from a company which shows as located in the U S even though they are registered in China.

Items were received in about 3-4 days shipped from Los Angeles to Nevada. No problems whatsoever.

That just tells you where the item is supposed to be located, not where the seller is registered.

If the item is supposed to be located in the US, but the seller is in China, I want to know so I can skip their listings.

@chapeau-noir it's on the search page (if you have your settings set to show it), not on individual item pages.

It should also show it if you click on View Listings in community profiles here as well, since that takes you to a page that is basically just the standard search results page but only for that specific ID.

It's a setting - thank you!

When I click on View Listings in my community profile I don't see this info - I have to change the actual view from gallery to list view - then I can.

This seems really obvious, now, but I simply never fiddled with those listings. *Also, I thought Richard's screen grab was of a single listing.

Actually I clicked on your "view listings" tag in your post and it brought up all 134 listings on a single page. I simply edited the picture so as not to use too much space.

@richard1rst this isn't something new (here's a post from last year with a screenshot showing it just as an example but I know it goes back much further than that).

Whether or not the seller info is displayed in search depends on your settings which can be accessed through the customize option:

It may not show all the information in Gallery View vs List View and sometimes those settings get reset by eBay and/or if you clear cache and cookies on your browser, so that may be why you haven't noticed it before.

I believe at some point in the recent past it actually said Top Rated Plus along with the blue icon, but the rest of it has definitely been there for a while.

This is definitely not new. As far as I can remember, the option has always been there, in list view. I have been on eBay for about 25 years, and I'm sure that it was like this when I started selling, so that would be about 15 to 20 years ago.

But, it has always been an option, and it remembers your last setting. So if you never chose to make all those things visible, then you wouldn't have seen them.

I can remember playing with the settings, in order to get screenshots for replies that showed what I wanted to show, without a lot of visual clutter. And then having to change it back to what I preferred for my own searches.

I should add that I have a strong preference for the list view, largely because of the extra information that can be shown. I don't use the gallery view except rarely for a specific purpose, to get a good screenshot. I have always disliked the store view because it was the gallery view, and never used it when I could avoid it. eBay has been making it more and more difficult to avoid the gallery view, but so far at least, there has always been a way.

ETA: that little blue icon for TRS+ is fairly new. I don't know when that started. It wasn't there when I was a TRS seller (I was basically grandfathered in when the TRS program started). But that was before TRS+, so that's going back a bit.
