Is there a way to see what message was sent to customer when printing a shipping label
I copy and paste a thank you message when printing labels to go in the "Add a message in the dispatch confirmation email" box. I think I may have printed something that I didn't want shared instead of my customary thank you blah blah blah message, but I'm not sure. I've looked around but haven't found a way to see what was sent to the customer. Is there a way??? Thank you!

·3 years agoI tried what @silverstatetreasureboxes suggested.
It works if you want to know what text you put on the label, but unfortunately it does not show what your message was to the buyer.

·3 years agoIt used to retain the last message you sent which was very useful if you basically sent the same message and just changed the item for example, but then at some point it started being blank each time and I couldn't be bothered anymore.
I doubt very many buyers even read the "your item has shipped email" and the seller message anyway.
They just see the header and don't even open it.

·3 years agoHas anyone figured out how to view these messages that are sent when printing shipping labels and selecting "Add a message in the dispatch confirmation email"? I find it very convenient for sending messages but it is problematic that they can not be viewed.

·3 years agoProbably can't help........but, like Silver, I thought it was retained on the label page.......I know, in the past, I've put a message there and then had that message go out on the next label I've printed.......
You say you've tried to reprint that label......and it doesn't show...... But have you tried printing another label and looked at it? Could be trying to print the same label goes back to the original which had no message......that doesn't make much sense.....lol, but perhaps you will understand what I mean....

·5 years ago@theoldladysattic You know that's a good question. Is this concerning message on the very last shipping label you made? I would go to that seller and " pretend" to print out another label and view the message box that way (should default)
If it is, I wouldn't get to upset about it as most people don't view them anyway ( message is on the invoice correct?) ( message is NOT on mailing label itself ) If something gets said about it, just explain.

OP5 years agosilverstatetreasureboxes, thanks for trying to help! I had already tried reprinting the label, it doesn't show the message anywhere. The message I am concerned with is the one that is generated as you prepare the label, it is under the Additional options section, which shows:
Display postage value on label
Add custom text on label
Add a message in the dispatch confirmation email
The add a message is where I messed up - I think - and before I take corrective action which would be a headache, I'd like to be sure exactly what the message I sent was. My own doing, hitting myself with a wet noodle, but you'd think there would be a way of accessing it!

We have some very good tech savvy posters here and one may drop in. Did you look under your SENT emails via ebay? Find that dispatched confirmation email it's got to show up somewhere. ( save the wet noodle for later!) Best, Silver

OP5 years agoIt is not under sent emails, the only ones that show there are the ones that I actually send separately through messages. You would think I could find it somewhere, but apparently not. Thanks for trying!

·3 years agoI don't know the answer, since I don't think I ever paid attention to confirmation emails.
But to make you feel a bit better... people sometimes write me nonsense and other people receive nonsense from me, and I don't even notice until perhaps some later time and think "that was silly", or maybe someone asks me what I mean, and I realize the message made no sense for that sale.
A guy left me feedback telling me the shirt was just the right colour to match his pants, or something like that, but I didn't sell him a shirt. People get confused and say stuff quickly without thinking it through.
Don't beat yourself up about it. If the buyer comments on what you said, then you can take corrective action. If you're really super worried about it, take corrective action now, then go relax and forget about it. Life's too short to be stressed over this stuff.
