Is "summer slow down" a real thing?
I am new to reselling (just about since around the end of May), and initially I was doing pretty good ($600 in my first month). However, this is my second month, and it seems like sales have come to a halt. I get 1 or 2 sales every couple of days, and Ive only had about $200 in sales in 3.5 weeks. I'm not doing anything different, and I'm listing consistently every day. The only thing that has changed is that I created a store. Any advice for this newbie?

·3 weeks agoMy summer sales have been below expectations, so far.
As has always been the case, I react to slower sales by listing more items. As always, my sales begin recovering by listing more.
@sunflower_sweetrepreats you have been a seller for such a short time that it is impossible to determine whether you drop off is seasonal, or you have had your best listings cherry picked by buyers.

·3 weeks agoA lot of her listings are for off-season clothing. Long sleeved shirts, pants, jackets, ties. Those are all items that have huge fall off in sales during the summer.

·3 weeks agoYes, summer is slower both because people spend more time outdoors and more of their income on outdoor activities and because more items are listed in the summer months than any other time of year due to their being more garage sales and the part time student and teacher resellers pursuing it full time during the summer.

People do try to get outdoors or go on vacation or just spend more time with their school age children.
We Canadians have been helping keep our American neighbours indoors by sending you smoke from wildfires. You're welcome.
There is also a small bump in Search when a new seller starts listing.
Stores don't make a difference in visibility, but do give us slightly lower fees, the ability to organize our product more precisely, and a quarterly discount on branded shipping supplies.
