Is eBay restricting me for 13 months because I'm not a Chinese counterfeiter?
I have 100% positive feedback yet I've been restricted in my selling account for over 13 months because I was forced to make several slow deliveries over 13 months ago. My last payout took over 6 months. Is this a way for the new owners of eBay to get rid of legitimate American sellers so that Chinese counterfeiters can take over eBay? With thousands of rich Chinese counterfeiters in San Jose California where eBay headquarters is located are American buyers of fake Chinese coins, art, clothing brands etc. happy?

·6 months agoI never had a problem with any items ordered from China.
I did once however have eBay cancel my order and issued a refund stating that the seller had been selling counterfeit items. I received the item because it had already been shipped. When I received it I could not tell that it was counterfeit. It was for memory sticks and they were sealed in factory packages.
It is the bulk packaged items that I worry about because they are not packaged or marked so they do not seem genuine.

·6 months agoSay what you want about the Chinese items, they mostly ship on time and are here in two, three weeks. If you live in America and are shipping slower than the Chinese sellers, you have to ask yourself why and fix the issue.

Yes, ebay is going to restrict everyone who is not a Chinese counterfeiter.
That would be all of us.
The title is so ridiculous, I stopped there.

What do you mean you were forced? Did the buyer ask for you to hold off on your handling time? Was this weather related? If the buyer asked for a hold off you should've told them no you had to ship the item. If it was weather related you could appeal that. Remember you are dealing with a system which has seller level standards. You as a seller should know your percentages and rules upfront. Ebay doesn't have feelings. You are treated as equal as everyone else. If you are below standard on seller level you will get restricted. Doesn't matter if you been here since 1998 or yesterday. You are treated the same.

·6 months ago@john_wade You have your store set to time away, yet you are here moning about eBay. Since you have time to do that, why not take your off time away and make sales. Duh.

"Personal Responsibility"
The Chinese sellers are bound to the same seller metrics as you and I. Ebay does not play favorites. If you want to be a top rated seller, start taking responsibility for your shortfalls as a seller. Blaming others won't help you get ahead.

·6 months agoThe difference though is that in China is it largely 100 percent organized in a manner where the real sellers don't have ebay accounts and instead get other people to buy into their selling programs. Chinese sellers buy into these programs to sell from the various mainland dropshippers, they all eventually crash and burn, the suppliers know and expect this to happen, but they stay in business because none of the ebay accounts actually belong to them.
So basically SCAM PRODUCTS company has no ebay account. However they have programs (cell phone based mostly) where people can open ebay accounts and post premade listings from SCAM PRODUCTS, and SCAM PRODUCTS will do all the shipping and the chump will make a tiny percent on each sale, they will eventually crash and burn their ebay account because SCAM PRODUCTS likely sells garbage, ships slowly, and might just keep taking the chump's money but stop shipping their products, which the chump won't even figure out for at least a month.

·6 months agoHow did they find San Jose? I got lost looking for it.

·6 months agoI did too! I didn't even know what a San Jose was, but someone kept asking me if I knew how to get there. Is it anything like Oz?

OP6 months agoI see no evidence that I have done anything wrong in the past 12 months. If they claim I have done anything wrong to deserve severe mistreatment be specific. Don't be so eager to crucify me for being a great seller since 1998.

·6 months agoTo parody "The Prisoner":
eBay: What do you want?
You: Information. (why has my account been restricted)
eBay: You won't get it! (because if we told you, you would tell 2 others, they would tell 2 others, and so on, and soon we would be out of business)
I don't think they allow arbitration, but you can try. Good luck 🤠

·6 months agoYou first reported this issue in March of 2025, if you received these defects (failing to ship) in March of last year they will stick with you until March of THIS year. They will no longer haunt you perhaps on the April 20th review which will include activity from March 2025.
The timing is critical so it's possible you might have to wait until the May evaluation.
FYI - There is no "new owner of eBay" and never has been.
Pierre Omidyar who founded the company in 1995 has retired but still holds the position of director emeritus and remains the largest individual shareholder of the company (current holdings valued at about 4 Billion Dollars).

·6 months agoShareholders are the only owners of eBay. Some of them are new and some of them are very old.
Chinese counterfeiters are most likely in China, not California.

·6 months agoYou failed to meet Ebay's seller performance standards in ways that were easy to detect and count.
The reasons are irrelevant. There is no program for forgiveness or provision for relief. Forgiveness for weather related issues are the limit. You are one of millions of sellers. The effects of having disappointed Ebay are longer lasting than some of the same infractions on other marketplaces, but a permanent ban is less likely than on other marketplaces.
If those sellers of cheap, Chinese goods are disappointing Ebay, they are treated in the same manner as you have been treated. If they disappoint you in ways that Ebay cannot or will not detect, perhaps Ebay will some day see the error of their ways. I used to buy my cheap Chinese crap on Ebay because it was cheaper than buying on Amazon. Now that there is Temu, I buy my cheap Chinese crap there - it is cheaper than Ebay and usually arrives faster.
Your 100% FB is meaningless and has always been meaningless. Feedback is subjective and buyer opinions are often wrong, one way or the other, and easily influenced.
