Is anyone else seeing an uptick in these crosslinking website scams?
I just had another message from an eBay'r asking why one of my items appeared on a Black Friday website at 50% off. This seems to be happening more and more. Or maybe because I recently tried eBay's new off-site advertising program for a few weeks. (which proved to be a waste of money.) I have included a photo of what this buyer sent me. The .ru is the giveaway for Russia. These overseas websites crosslink listings from eBay. People buy the item and never see their money again. I would think eBay would be concerned with this. Maybe they have already addressed it and I didn't get the memo. Thanks!

I suspect they are concerned about it. But I suspect it is pretty hard to take down a site that is in Russia.

I seriously doubt eBay considers you important enough to be on the list to get memos about their legal issues.

·1 year agoI'm sure eBay is concerned but they are limited in what they can do, very difficult to enforce a take down on a scam originating in Russia.
These scam sites pop up in the dozens or perhaps hundreds EVERY DAY.

·1 year agoSee em a lot. Saw a book I wanted listed on Google and noticed it was the same as an eBay seller but much cheaper. The "ru" is a big hint it's a scam
