Is anyone else experiencing an uptick in extreme low balling?
I’m getting a lot of offers recently that is what I call “extreme low ballingâ€. A lot of buyers are offering me $1 for my items. Very bizarre behavior. Then they message me asking why I won’t accept it. Anyone else dealing with this nonsense?

·8 months agoIf you are getting an extreme increase then have a minimum on the amount you would want to review for negotiating. That gets rid of lowballers from your messaged offers. I just decline offers which are lowball. If they message you direct tell them you want "X" amount and can only give a "X" amount discount which is your lowest number.

·8 months agoI don't sell but your thread made me wonder if there isn't some "tutorial" on some social media site telling prospective ebay sellers "How to source your inventory from eBay to sell for profit on eBay".
Just a random thought...........................

·8 months agoI've never been offered only a dollar - but I find that the lowballing happens the most often with very popular high value products, i.e. iPhones. Lots of people have search alerts set up, and think they are being clever offering you an extremely low amount for a quick sale.

·8 months ago@suns_193 you MUST turn on 'automatic denials' at a certain $$ amount....although it is REALLY better for ALL sellers that NOBODY does 'offers'. Then buyers do not treat this place like Craigslist and the local Garage Sale.

·8 months agoThey could still receive lowball offers through direct message, which is how I receive mine as I don't use best offer either.
I wouldn't use Best Offer all the time, but it has its place. If you have a bulky item that has been sitting for awhile with no activity, that would be an appropriate use in my opinion.

·8 months agoCopy that. I like to use best offer on expensive items to which, I have no skin in the game.
Get 'em up and move 'em out.

·8 months agoI generally do not turn on offers unless I'm hurting for sales. I'm actually not running sales either.

No, I am not.
The fact that you accept offers may have something to do with that.

When you add best offer to your items you can set it so the system will auto accept any offer over a certain price and decline any offer under a certain price. When someone makes a low offer the system will decline the offer automatically so you don't have to deal with those types of offers.

Some items get no respect.
Some items deserve no respect.
You can decide which is the appropriate explanation.
