Making good sense and fair, if eBay still blocking payout $ for 2022?
Because some sellers say for 2022, IRS is going back to the old rule, $20,000 and 200 transactions?
Should eBay legally to start blocking payout $ for 2023 instead?

·3 years agoEbay should not be holding payouts hostage by requiring a seller to provide their social security number. It is not needed for 2022 for most sellers since the the IRS thresholds for 2022 are not changed for that tax year. There is no reason to BULLY sellers to provide information that is not needed for 2022. People are always advised to limit the number of institutions that have their social security number. The more places that have it, the more your risk of identity theft with all the data breaches that have occurred. Ebay has had a security breach in the past. There are no security guarantees with any institution.
