International Shipping suddenly turned off on all my listings and is no longer available

Multiple participants, including sugarnspice777, tobaccocardyahoo, caldreamer, tarotfindsandmore, and others, joined the discussion sharing similar experiences or providing insights. hardrhymer76, in particular, was actively engaged in the conversation, possibly suggesting troubleshooting steps or alternative solutions. Despite numerous shared experiences, it remains unclear if a definitive solution was reached during the discussion.
Id say about half of my sales are to Korea/Japan etc due to the nature of my items. Today a buyer reached out and asked if I could turn on international shipping for an item he wanted to buy. I checked and this item, along with all my other listings, had the shipping option only to the US. I have always been enrolled in EIS, have used it many times, and have never un enrolled or anything like that. I have tried editing my listings many times, changing every detail, as well as uploading entirely new listings of very small cheap items like a $10 plush toy, but no matter what I do, my listing will say shipping to US only. My seller rating is above standard and says above standard for next evaluation period too.
I spoke to Ebay customer service on the phone and he says he thinks its a glitch and submitted some kind of ticket or something and said it could be 48 hours until I hear back. Unfortunately I dont want to wait that long and lose out on a potential big sale. Anyone have any experience or advice here? Thanks

·2 months agoI’m in Australia….your listings show eBay Int’l Shipping or ‘ask for a quote’
hardrhymer76
·2 months agoI see the usual list of eIS destinations on one of your listings:
Unless you happen to direct-ship internationally to all of those exact countries... that's eIS.
To verify on the account level, there should be a section for it within Shipping Preferences of your Account Settings.

·2 months agoIt happened to me on May 30; I make some changed to the listing and I finally got it work. I have no idea what cause it.

·2 months agoSomething happened over the weekend. It IS a glitch. It has nothing to do with your account. I suddenly got five international orders in 36 hours, not one was an eIS order (I've been enrolled since the program began). I spoke with customer service for upwards of an hour and discovered that my eIS purchases had all been switched over to regular international.
You need to submit a ticket and request a call back. Customer service is aware there are a variety of problems with international shipping right now so don't worry about all the comments to do with your account standing. It's not that.
The comments thus far are likely from folks who either haven't had an international sale over the past few days, don't use the eIS program, haven't noticed the change, or whose accounts haven't yet been affected. Again, it's not you. I ended up totally opting out, waiting a day, and then opting back in. Not sure that fixed it, but it's the only thing we could think to do for the time being.

OP2 months agoThanks, this is a great answer. The customer service rep I spoke with on the phone also said it was likely a glitch and sent some email to ebay and said theyd reply in 48 hours. Have you seen others discussing this issue? Although I do wonder why it impacts certain accounts but not others. My gf's account and all of her EIS listings have been completely unaffected by this.

·2 months agoAgain, I suspect it's probably affecting many accounts, but those accounts aren't receiving international orders so they'd have no way of knowing. You (and I) can see it because we get/got international orders. Mine did go through, but they were forced through as ebay International Shipping rather than eIS. Another poster pointed out the difference before I realized I'd been bumped out. My account was still showing as enrolled but the orders came through as First Class USPS - ebay International Shipping.
Others will likely start posting things about not being able to ship to certain countries, rather than realizing it's the whole program, as many users don't ship to a variety of countries in a short period of time. It caught my eye because three of the five orders I received were to countries definitely excluded from the eIS program.
I'd look for threads that indicate a problem with shipping to any international destination, rather than those to do with eIS. As you're seeing posters are quick to jump on the "it's your fault" bandwagon, rather than questioning whether there might be something screwed up in the system (which is often the correct answer with issues like this).

To be eligible for the eBay International Shipping program, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
The following requirements apply to items shipped through eBay International Shipping:

OP2 months agothanks, i meet the criteria for all of that, and even my items that were already listed with EIS on them have now had the international shipping option removed from the listings. so i dont think it has anything to do with my account
hardrhymer76
·2 months agoWell, you can test that theory by opting-out of eIS and re-enrolling.
If it were me, I'd give it some time between the two actions instead of simply doing it back-to-back within minutes.
chr0mew0rld
OP2 months agoI dont think you even are able to opt back in for 24 hours. ill give it a shot
tarotfindsandmore
·2 months agoThat's correct. It takes 24-48 hours.
chr0mew0rld
OP2 months agoI opted out and 24 hours later opted back in, no change. Tried posting a few new listings and they all say shipping only to USA. Very frustrating, I'm considering just moving on from Ebay if they aren't going to fix this
hardrhymer76
·2 months agoYour items are expensive enough that it may be worth the extra effort to learn about and offer international shipping directly. One thing I've discovered (that you probably already know) is that Japan loves eBay.
Sorry this happened. Best of luck to you.
tarotfindsandmore
·2 months agoYou might want to request a call back. My international shipping is back to normal.
I've made it a point to avoid shipping to countries that aren't covered under the program. I just don't want to deal with possible defects for things that might go missing or get damaged.

·2 months agoIf your seller performance and seller level drop below a threshold, you will lose the ability to use EIS.
This is because it is too risky for Ebay to take responsibility for your shipments.
chr0mew0rld
OP2 months agomy seller rating and performance are both above standard and I have 0 defects on my account.
hardrhymer76
·2 months agoNevertheless, it looks like you were removed from eIS shortly after the transaction that resulted in the negative feedback. eBay (or its risk-management AI) can use whatever criteria they wish for that purpose.
chr0mew0rld
OP2 months agoHow do I appeal or get this removed then? If I'm unable to ship to dozens of countries where I make most sales, i'm just better off sticking to Grailed and other sites that don't artificially reduce my number of potential costumers
hardrhymer76
·2 months agoThe eIS Seller Terms and Conditions doesn't mention any sort of appeals process, but feel free to look it over in case there's something I missed.
I think the CS agent you spoke to was either not trained for this type of issue, or knew exactly what the problem was but wanted you off the phone as quickly as possible. You could always try your luck with another agent.
stainlessenginecovers
·2 months agoThere is no 'appeal'. You sell very high dollar items so they probably decided 'too much $$ risk' since EIS eats any refunds/returns.

shipping on it, upload tracking and USPS. It will not be insured unless you send priority.
