International order fee'd on domestic shipping price?
I had a multi item order (3 diff listings, one with several cards) to Canada w/ 1st class stamp shipping that I charge for, 2 listings with the same and the other a different shipping price. Despite having over $6 in shipping being paid by the buyer, the fee breakdown only showed one card with a $0.85 shipping charge (the DOMESTIC cost on my cheap card variation listings, the other two listings had free domestic shipping).
Did I catch a once in a lifetime eBay glitch that favors the seller or is this normal and I've just never paid enough attention to notice before?
I also noticed they added an explanation for the Int fee, maybe that will cut down on questions about it lol.

·11 months agoThat's been the process for as long as I can remember. Quoted policy below, parts in (parenthesis) were added by me for clarity because some sellers have a tendency to misunderstand this policy.

Exceptions to how we calculate the final value fee on shipping
If you offer 1-day (overnight domestic) or (direct) international shipping as well as a cheaper or free option (like domestic shipping), the total amount of the sale is calculated based on the cheapest domestic option you offer.

OP11 months agoWell I feel dumb lol. I've seen that exact policy before and brushed right over how it affected me. That's a heck of savings though, surprised they do it that way. Should probably keep quiet about it lest they change their minds...

·11 months agoIt's a good policy to incentivize sellers taking the risk with direct international ship costs or overnight domestic ship costs. Obviously the international side of it is more impactful on heavier items, but still, a benefit nonetheless.

·11 months agoDon't feel too dumb, there are plenty of very active sellers who ship internationally and are completely unaware of this fee calculation method.
As @wastingtime101 posted this policy for fee calculation has been in effect since 2011 when fees on shipping first started.
