Increasing Return Rates
Not sure if you're already experiencing this, but as the world economy becomes more unstable, you can expect an uptick in return rates. Buyers will minimize their risks by utilizing favorable return policies. Of course, this platform will also protect it's own risks by passing them on to sellers.
Could be a bumpy ride this year, so take the extra time to review your policies and accurately describe your items.

30 day returns is way too long in my opinion and that doesn't help the situation. Sure wish Ebay would shorten that window.

Returns are all in what you sell. Some sellers are going to experience an increase and other sellers may not notice any change. Bogus INADs are already on the rise for me this year. As long it financially makes sense for me, I can handle it mentally and I don't get hit with ebay's 5% additional increase in fees shake down, I'll keep trucking along and just complain about it.
When it no longer makes sense. I'll stop listing new items, slowly let me store fade into the sunset. Find some other way to make money to pay bills and take the money my household does spend here, elsewhere.
I'd also like to add you can take the greatest photos in the world and describe your items until the cows come home but it does not matter. It would seem the newest generations cannot be bothered to look at pictures or read and if they want to return something they will, by hook or crook.

This is due to an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period, which has caused processing delays.

·5 months agoI would agree that the chances are higher for returns, But at this point it is simply a wait & see situation & nothing definite.

·5 months agoYes return rates can increase. I dealt with a very bad one last year but overall it's not bad at all. If you have high return rates as in 10% or more items being shipping out are being return I would say reevaluate selling online cause either what you are selling as in products or the way you are describing the items isn't working. If you have say 500 sales but 1 or 2 returns that is actually very good.
