Important Notice: Safeguard Against Buyer Scams
Summary: nimraijaz6 warns sellers about a scamming tactic used by some buyers who exploit loopholes in claims and feedback systems. They describe an incident where a buyer falsely claimed non-delivery and then switched to a fake return claim, eventually leaving a negative review to extort a refund. nimraijaz6 advises sellers to use tracked shipping, keep all communication records, and contest fraudulent claims to protect themselves from such scams.
Hi everyone, I am posting this to warn all sellers about a massive loophole being exploited by bad-faith buyers. A buyer recently purchased an item from my store, and official carrier tracking definitively proved safe delivery on time.
Despite the delivery proof, the buyer deliberately chose to commit fraud:
They first filed a fraudulent 'Item Not Received' (INR) claim, lying about non-delivery.
When carrier tracking shut down their lie, they instantly flipped their narrative, opened a fake return claim, and weaponized the feedback system by leaving a malicious retaliatory negative review purely to extort a refund.
This is a textbook pattern of scamming and system manipulation. Always protect yourselves: upload tracked shipping immediately, save all message proofs, and fight every single abusive claim. Don't let these dishonest buyers get away with abusing sellers

·1 week agoA buyer usually can not WIN an INR when your tracking / entered into Ebay, shows delivered. So this is really nothing to worry about. However make sure you respond to the INR and re-enter the tracking number as Ebay asks us to do.
Your feedback shows other problems, but no one related to the story you are describing here.
How does a buyer open a "fake return claim", you may disagree with their reason, but that doesn't make the Return Request a "fake", it just means you don't agree with the buyer. The two are not the same. But with that said, it does not appear they have left you any kind of negative feedback.
So what have you don't in regards to the Return Request they opened? What was the reason for the claim when they opened it? When did they open the claim, as that is very important too?
