Images not uploading
Summary: sewbusybiz and other participants are experiencing issues with uploading images to eBay, describing it as a significant disruption. Despite troubleshooting efforts like switching browsers and clearing cache, the problem persists, suggesting it may be a site-wide issue. Many express frustration with eBay's consistent technical problems, while others offer workarounds or express hope for a quick resolution. arraus confirms that Tech Support is addressing the issue, and some participants suggest patience as the solution is anticipated.
Trying to list new items this morning, and images are not uploading.
Keeps showing image failed to upload. Tried from computer files,
and also uploading from my website. Listing on eBay has never been
such a chore. Changes always bring problems.

·4 days agosame problem for me as well. Had this happen several weeks ago and it was fixed but has returned. Poorly maintained site by Ebay and whenever they seem to upgrade or internally do anything at their end it causes chaos.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 2:59 PMIf your images aren’t uploading, try refreshing the page or using a different browser. Clearing the browser cache can also help. If the issue continues, it may be a temporary eBay upload problem.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 2:36 PMSame here:( When you work full time through the week, not being able to fully list on a Sunday morning is a major disappointment.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 2:11 PM · EditedI want to know why we have to come here to find this out and why there wouldn't be a popup saying there is a photo upload error that is being worked on or any kind of official announcement.
Absolute incompetence, this has been going on minimum of 4 hours and the homepage has zero mention.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 2:25 PM · EditedI recommend that all whiners and foot-stompers read my previous reply of a few minutes ago.
Take a break and don't get your knickers in a twist. Take the time to play with the kids or tell your mate how much you love them and take the family out for a bite to eat.... eBay's working on it and it'll be fixed when it's fixed. Period.
Cheers, Duffy

·Aug 9, 2026 at 2:34 PM · EditedI recommend that we continually call out incompetence and demand better.
Did you know that you can both take a break and still want things like ebay to perform like a billion dollar global company?

·Aug 9, 2026 at 2:44 PM"I recommend that we continually call out incompetence and demand better."
You'll just have to wait for the mid-term elections.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 3:02 PM · EditedThat's exciting.
Waiting for ebay to acknowledge and address glitches is often a multiple decades long affair.
duffy4444
·Aug 9, 2026 at 3:03 PM · EditedIt actually is performing like a billion dollar company - They're fixing it, just like all billion dollar companies do. Ever hear of continual recalls from every auto manufacturer that have been around 5 times longer than eBay? Recalls still are a part of life and will continue. So will problems with electronics and systems.
S*** happens. No company is immune because every one is run by humans.
Take a stress pill. It'll be fixed when it's fixed, then we can all go back to living our eBay lives, and in a day or so the downtime will be all but forgotten. Funny how that works.
Cheers, Duffy
BTW: I'm far from being an eBay shill. There are a lot of things I wish it would do better. I've just been around here as a buyer and very successful seller for 29 years now, and I've learned to Accept > Adjust > Adapt... without getting my socks in a wad over temporary inconveniences.
robot-hands
·Aug 9, 2026 at 3:27 PM · EditedStop accepting incompetence as business as usual.
We are now at 5 hours in and no announcement. Is there a blue in any of these threads?
I'm not sure how much more would you like to explain my experience to me but how about none, none more.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 1:45 PMWe are getting something done - we are writing the listings and saving as drafts - half done now is better then everything later.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 2:19 PM · EditedNow ^^this^^ is a reasonable and positive response.
Anything devised and instituted by humans WILL occasionally fail. Then it can be fixed. This will, too.
Patience, people, patience... we won't die because of inconvenience. Depending on the time of day, go get a cookie and coffee, or a beer and some chips. Then try again until it's fixed... SIMPLE!
Cheers, Duffy

·Aug 9, 2026 at 1:43 PMYeah, ebay was opening the wrong windows to retrieve pics from but I though it was just my Mac being fiddly.
I'm sure one of our regulars will be here shortly to tell us all it is all our fault and nothing but user error.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 12:55 PMYes, it's happening system wide.
I have confirmed Tech Support is working on it right now.
I'd recommend coming back every 30 minutes and testing it. It should be back up soon. It's frustrating to be ready for Sunday morning listing... then can't!! This too shall pass.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 11:24 AMSame thing here, "photos failed to upload". I tried everything, even a different device. This lead me to believe it was a widespread problem, which is a relief. Pictures can be uploaded in the app, but I'd rather not deal with the app.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 10:40 AMThere is one thing you guys can do, I dont know if it will help or not but i could copy a picture that is already on eBay and it will upload with no problems on another listing....but anything NEW won't.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 10:38 AMThe Problem is that eBay changes crap all the time without testing it out first. Really puts the sellers short since they don't refund the fees for the Store Subscriptions when this happens...sometimes it takes up to a week or longer for them to fix the issues also...I think its a terrible way to do business.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 11:15 AMThere are issues that have IT tickets written and they know it is a massive problem for example the botched up incorrect vehicle compatibility chart that states vehicles that never were produced by the manufacturer or with correct drive trains, they tried putting a band aid on it and in doing so if you had say the same part listed for Challengers and Barracudas...the band aid wiped out the checked Barracuda boxes....the only fix is for seller to FIND every listing and revise it back to the initial settings....I have been revising for over a year now.....oh yeah they added fitment guarantee where buyers can send back and you pay he shipping...How can you guarantee fitment on non existent vehicles.....
