I'm unable to refund a buyer, or to call/chat with ebay support.

Cancel the sale and refund their money. eBay doesn't need to be involved and knowing them they'll give you the wrong advice. 🙄 Might be a good idea to be more aware of your inventory so this won't happen again. One too many of those cancellations can be the kiss of death for your seller account here on eBay. Please be careful.

You have to cancel the sale. Reason "Out of stock or damaged".
No need to contact ebay.
Be careful. Try not to let this happen too often. This is a serious defect.
