I'm hoping for a boost in ebay sales.
Now that grocery prices and everything else has gone down I'm hoping that ebay sales will pick up.
People will have more money in their pocket for discretionary spending.
I wish the same for all my fellow ebay sellers.

·1 year agoIt is asinine that people think that the president has any control on eBay sales or grocery prices. Those are most influenced by mega corporations who are going to raise prices as long as they have shareholder to please. If their costs go down, they will pocket the difference, not pass it to customers. The party in charge is pro-free market and anti-regulation anyways. Nothing will change. Corporations have more influence in people's day to day life than politicians.

·1 year agoI'm still waiting for the Obamacare replacement that will be better, cost less, cover everyone and reign in healthcare costs. But I'm sure it will be in place within 100 days, just like we were told in 2016.

·1 year agoI've looked through your seller information and it looks like you're sales are down because of what you sell and how you sell it. You need to work harder and act smarter and your sales will pick up. As you and others have pointed out through the years, it's always the seller, it's never eBay. So get back to work, and quit complaining.

On the lighter side of things, we received 5 inches of rain overnight and both roads leading out of here to the north and east, heading to the cafe were flooded and blocked by barricades. I had to make breakfast for everyone here and my 99 year old neighbor I had picked up earlier.
Time to get out of my cushy chair and get after that hard work I talked about. Best to all.

·1 year agoEggs at the Great Canadian Superstore in Simcoe (1 hour away from Hamilton/GTA area) had them for 3.43 CAD.
My roommate buys eggs all the time to make his breakfast, he was particularly upset when I suggested our pricing might be following the US with the egg shortage... seems to not have happened yet.
I noticed that eggs and milk are something families buy in big quantities because they're cheap. I frequently see families at the grocery store with 30 eggs and a few gallons of milk in their cart (but not a whole lot else... everything is just so expensive).

Millions of chickens have been euthanized over the past several months, at least, for various reasons.
So their price isn't a great barometer.

·1 year agoHaha, oh wait your serious? Eggs are thru the roof, so will any products made with them. Here in MO, gas went up $.20-.30 2 weeks ago and just jumped another dime yesterday.

The housing market is back on a tear again in my area. It's the middle of winter to boot. This kind of reminds me of 2006 when everything was fine until it wasn't.

As I said earlier, I was in real estate brokerage at the time. Market in 06 was roaring. I was doing BPO's for the big banks, (sometimes 25 a week, yea, a week). This is the first step in a foreclosure action. I was getting paid between $50 and $100 each. Fellow brokers were chiding me for working for pennies when there was real money to pick up ripping off borrowers by convincing them to refinance and buy 'investment property'.
Within a couple years they were asking me how I got all of those foreclosure listings.
It's happening again. I see the same ads on TV "Refinance your home, pay off those credit card bills."
It's Deja vu all over again. We never learn, but it seems the speed of forgetting is increasing.
This is going to affect all of us. This will effect our businesses.

·1 year agoThe prices have not gone down that much. The shop on ebay thing has to do probably more about HOW many active buyers does this site still have, and how many buyers continue to prefer NOT to shop here ANYMORE because of all the other websites avail to them now. THAT is the most crucial issue of all. Ebay is raising fees again and if there was enough business on here they PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THAT MOVE.

·1 year agoI was never expecting a continual flat fee schedule considering the inflation over the last 4 years. Surprised the fee hike was not more and levied sooner.
I completely agree on your points about cultivating and retaining buyers. EBay has far more than enough employees to make buyer satisfaction as the top priority for the long run.
The way they run their numbers somehow does not make buyers a priority.
They are doing something positive with the BBE initiatives. As I have mentioned before, ebay should have initiated BBE worldwide 10 years ago. AMZ is so far ahead of eBay in buyer retention.
imho, eBay has far too many employees to not be making sure buyers are not being ripped off left and right by unscrupulous sellers. Buyers have to be at the top of any and every list.

Since all the egg pickers have been deported, âœˆï¸ the shortage of labor will continue to plague many during breakfast.
Maybe some sellers should consider selling anything "Egg" related or add "Eggs" to their listing titles in hopes for more traffic.

·1 year agoEggs have a super long shelf life and do not go bad the day they expire.
I was told by a baker once that if you crack an egg that's past it's date and the yolk stays in tact, it's good, if the yolk breaks apart when it hits the bowl, get another egg and use it instead.

That is soooo kind to think of your fellow sellers. You always are the thoughtful one. All your well wishes and positive posts over the last week or so sure sparked things up for many of us.
So many folks cannot get their heads out of the proverbial political darkness they dwell in every hour of the day. I have old time friends that don’t even mingle or go out anymore because they can’t get away from CNN, MSNBC, TikTok, legacy media and the like. They are stuck, at home in front of the TV’s and tablets listening to all that sh!tt. All day. Sad.
Sales have been lit up starting back on January 20th and what a day that was to kick things off. Also had a record week on AMZ sales last week, top week over 8 years. --- Purchasers buying parts and products for projects.
For anyone working on selling on eBay, I will share that the winning has been on price for the majority of sales. I can’t sit on inventory while competitors are selling theirs.
One thing that has been working well on multi-quantity listings is getting right down there with them on price and then smokin’ their azzes with volume pricing. Hard to believe so many sellers don’t use volume pricing in competitive markets.
Been keeping up with sending offers as they pop up and sending out at least a 5% discount right away. If I can’t do at least another 5% discount on an item, that means I do not source very well and that is not the case. That is the only thing I have been doing consistently every day lately outside of packing and shipping orders.
Still been doing some of the ending listings and sell-similar. I think there is something to be said for your account showing some action on a consistent basis.
Feeling that the 2% PL’s are working as they are supposed to. Always running those for 3 weeks or so at a time. Giving it 48 hour breathing/reset room and then starting another 2% campaign.
I have not even created but a few new listings here and there over the last 3-4 months. Just been working the existing listings. I did go on a pick yesterday for the first time since last summer. Bolstering the existing listings with new listings is always a help. Might get started on that after I finish taxes this week.
Price, price, price and quick shipping have been winners. Best of luck to all.
And that was your break from the political realm for the day. You can now resume your regularly scheduled bickering.
PS: Eggs (2 Dozen) were $8 and something at Costco in DFW on Saturday.

·1 year agoFor anyone keeping score, he also promised that energy prices would be cut in half within 12-18 months.
Depending where you live, that would mean gas at about $1.50 a gallon and dramatically reduced home heating and cooling costs.
I put the chances somewhere between slim and none, but I would be happy to be wrong.

·1 year agoI too am hopeful. It is hilarious that all the sudden mainstream news is saying that we have inflation haha... Its been going on 3 years plus of it... As an eBay seller I want the economy to get better. I have been wanting it to get better for more than 1 week... way more. Our sales have been wonderful since December. Slowed a bit, but nothing like most of 2021-2024

We all need to start buying inventory before all the other sellers
gather up the good stuff before we get a chance.

It was (I think) the very beginning of 09 and the feds had to give AIG almost $100 billion and I got a cold feeling.
Within a month ... it hit the fan.
I was managing a real estate firm at the time. 70 agents, 8 secretarial staff.
Listings on the books either cancelled, or lowered price drastically.
Sales meetings were depressing and dark.
The race to the basement began in full in March.
I had been developing relationships with bank asset managers all over the country, some from some pretty big portfolios. I started getting BPO requests (appraisal) and shortly after got my first foreclosure listing.
Three weeks later I left and opened my own brokerage. The chiding and laughter of other brokers was deafening.
Within six months, my wife and I (who is licensed) had 35 listings in inventory, and were closing three or four a month.
A year later that doubled.
This is beginning to feel very familiar.

O I remember the 2008/2009 crash. I was a bit off on my timing but I put a HUGE chunk into the market when it was close to the bottom. That investment has returned a little over 300% over a period of not quite 16 years. A lot of people I knew pulled out of the market when it dropped, bad move. I did just the opposite.

·1 year agoHope you are not selling chicken eggs - the just jumped up to $5.55 at an Aldi store in our 'hood - higher in other places.
Don't think you have them in Hi - they are generally the low price grocery store for about 80% of your needs and limit selection - home based out of Germany. But ya'all got big money in those islands

·1 year agoWe were promised, but anyone that knows Trump, knows he does not fulfill many promises, He is determined to fulfill his own personal retaliation agenda, I wonder though is he going to deport all the illegal immigrants he has working in his hotels, resorts, golf clubs, etc, You know the cleaning ladies, restaurant cooks, bus boys, bell hops, parking attendees & so on, Someone should look into that.

T**** Tower was built by undocumented Polish immigrants using Chinese steel. He seems to prefer undocumented immigrants when they come from Eastern Europe.

If you read the details of that case Trump contracted with Kaszycki and Sons for the demolition of the old building. He was not directly employing any of those contractors or paying them directly. While he claims he was unaware there were illegals working on the project, which given the number of people working on contracts for him is highly possible, the judge indicated that the Trump employee overseeing the demolition, Thomas Macari, was well aware of their existence. As to whether Thomas told Trump is questionable.
If some of the cleaning ladies, restaurant cooks, bus boys, bell hops, parking attendees..... suddenly do not show up for work one day because they have been deported I seriously doubt Trump would even know. Most of those people are probably working on a service contract with some vendor Trump has a contractual relationship with.

·1 year agoI was wondering that myself. I think there used to be one... the Café? Something like that? I've been through all the pulldown menus just now and don't see anything under that name or even similar, but could easily have missed it someplace.
I did find a posting (here) called "What board should I post on?" That was a post by @community_team listing groups that had been eliminated, renamed or introduced as of June 2021, but the only off-topic-by-design one, named "The Break Room" ("Off-topic place, where you can chat about non-eBay subjects"), is listed as "Not live yet, will update when released" with no link. Perhaps someone on the eBay (or Khoros) side of the wall can post an update on that.
