I'm a new seller. USPS lost my package to buyer. Do I claim through USPS or ShipCover on eBay?
Summary: personaltreasure is new to selling on eBay and has encountered an issue where a package sent via USPS Ground Advantage appears to be lost. They are unsure whether to instruct the buyer to file an "item not received request" and issue a refund, or to pursue a claim through USPS or ShipCover insurance. rfmtm advises that the buyer should wait if possible, as deliveries have been delayed, and suggests filing claims with both USPS and ShipCover in case a refund is needed later.
I am pretty new with selling on eBay. I sent a package to a buyer through USPS Ground Advantage and I paid for the extra insurance through ShipCover when I printed the label. The package appears to be lost according to the postmaster at the delivering post office. The buyer is aware of what is happening. Should I have the buyer submit an "item not received request" and then refund the buyer? Do I then submit a claim directly through USPS or create a claim through the eBay seller hub under the order details/shipping which covers the ShipCover insurance?

·1 month agoLeave the buyer alone and hope they will hold out a bit as deliveries have been running very late. If it is past the delivery date file claim now, both on USPS.com and with ShipCover for the excess. Note that package aren't officially considered lost until 21 days, but file now in case you end up refunding and it gets delivered after that.
