a 7 day payment delay after participating in a 7 or 10 day auction is nuts
You have been here for a long time, do you remember when an Auction ended with a sale, if the buyer didn't pay, you had to wait for 7 days to open a Non Payment report and then the buyer still had 7 MORE days to make the payment or for the seller to wait to close and issue a strike.
A year ago Auction sellers would be on this board complaining EVERY day, usually multiple times per day. That no longer happens very much and you can thank eBay for this great idea that has definitely worked to the advantage of sellers.

Me too as a buyer Id love to shake their hand. Find item desired and place bid. Wake up and check "My Purchases" and it's already paid for...Nice............................
Now the 7 day thing is kind of nuts but as I almost always buy just the one item from a seller.............
We think waiting four days and not getting paid is nuts. We LOVE the auto pay because we LOVE to get paid. We haven't had a non payer in over a year.
And besides, it's not 'paid in seven days' it's 'paid within seven days' - most of our 'within seven' get paid within two days. A few did go the seven days but at least they got paid.
Also most of our auto pay have been the within two hours type.
If you don't like guaranteed payments you can uncheck the "require a payment method" deal and go back to the maybe getting paid setup.
