I somehow opened a case on a buyer! How do I reverse it?

Hopefully an ebay rep reads this and can help.

While giving a partial refund to a buyer, eBay somehow took it that I was also issuing a fraud case on the buyer! I have no idea how or why this happened but after I issued the refund I get an email stating a fraud case on this buyer has been opened.

I tried to contact eBay to tell them this fraud case should be closed and was opened by mistake but it's impossible to reach an agent with this terrible new automated service that eBay has implemented!

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do? I don't want my buyer thinking I've opened a fraud case on them.

Let it go. Itâ€™s an honest mistake that wonâ€™t amount to anything; the buyer will never know nor be impacted.

For whatever reason when a seller issues a partial refund to a buyer through a return there is also a notice sent to eBay to report the buyer. Thereâ€™s no way to avoid it and I donâ€™t know if it can be reversed.
Iâ€™ve given out several partial refunds through returns cases and have noticed a report on the buyer was sent when I issued the partial refund.
Reports are confidential so the buyer has no way of knowing who reported them. Iâ€™m not even sure the buyers are informed about the reports.

They aren't informed per se. When they get a significant enough amount of these reports, ebay will take action and may generally mention to the buyer of their high volume of reports. But they will never disclose to them which sellers reported them.
