I sold an item, and the customer is no longer a registered user. What should I do?
Summary: fin-6183 sold a laptop but noticed the buyer is no longer a registered user. fin-6183 is uncertain whether to wait 4 days for order cancellation or find a quicker solution. luckythewinner advises playing it safe by waiting, while thriftgirl_62 suggests canceling the order through eBay's system and relisting the item. tobaccocardyahoo points out that canceling early might be possible, and redmodelt provides similar advice, suggesting the cancellation options may include a reason related to the user status. pickapaper advises caution due to the high risk of scams in electronics, especially for new sellers, and recommends starting with less expensive items.
I recently just sold a laptop to a customer, but when I clicked on his account, the message "No longer a registered user" appears. No payment was made yet. Do I have to wait 4 days for the non payment cancellation, or is there a way to cancel now?

·3 months ago · EditedBecause they are no longer a member you should be able to cancel early. Look at the reasons in the cancel drop down and see if one fits. There might even be one that say no longer registered member or some such. They can't pay at this point. I would however wait till eBay notifies you.

·3 months agoIt looks like you are a brand new seller so this could have been a blessing in disguise. But I see you have already relisted the computer so I just want to point out a few things in case you are not aware.
Electronics, especially computers and phones are some of the highest scammed items on eBay. The laptop you sold/are reselling is not cheap and you, being a new seller, are a prime target for scammers and you really don't have any way to protect yourself. Are you familiar with eBay's Money Back Guarantee?
Did you know that because you are a new seller, eBay will hold any funds from sold items for about 30 days before they release them to you? If you need money quickly, this is not the place to do it when you are a new seller.
It is recommended that new sellers start off with selling inexpensive items until you get some experience and knowledge under your belt.

·3 months agoYou can click on the Order Number and cancel the order. Click the Buyer asked to cancel box. Then you can 'edit' the item, update the quantity, and "sell it again" since the listing will now show 1 sold and 1 in stock.
