I sell a lot more when listing insertions are free. Buyers love "new listings"
When there are no insertion fees, sellers are much more likely to list "new listings" which buyers love. I suggest making all insertions free except if listed in a 2nd category too. In order to turbocharge lackluster sales across the board try making the insertions free all the time instead of going back and forth with 35 cent insertion fees and free insertions every 2
weeks which is annoying and kills sales.

·2 years agoYou have 250 FREE listings every month unless you subscribe to a Store.
Then you pay for the listings, although the amount you pay varies depending on how many of your paid listings you use.
Unless you have a promotion of Free Listings (one of my stores has 10K Free and uses those before my subscribed listings, but that could end at any time), your current 335 listings in your Store cost you about 9c a month each.
You could drop your Store and about a third of your listings and pay no fees at all.
YOu might even get some Promotions that give you more Free listings.

·2 years agoAs much as this would help me, it wouldn't be worth it to have to look through the thousands of "new" listings every day by sellers who end and "sell similar" on a semi-daily basis. Come to think of it, I'd probably be one of these annoying sellers. I'd just "sell similar" my entire inventory every few days.

·2 years agoIf new listings generate sales and revenue for you why are you so opposed to listing fees?
Right now you appear to be paying a listing fee on about 85 listings, if you signed up for a Basic Store it would be less than you are paying now (even lower if you sign up for one year) and you would get a lot more "free" listings.
As far as eBay going to ALL free listings the site would explode from the nearly two Billion listings to many many more. There are sellers out there that could go from a few thousand listings to hundreds of thousands. I can't even imagine what eBay would be like if they had 10 Billion listings (or even more).

I'm going to look for bacon in the sky, and I think I know which has the most likelihood of happening 1st.

·2 years agoYes, pigs flying and getting struck by lightning and turning into crispy delicious bacon is much more likely than free listings on eBay
Can you imagine how many junk spam listings there would be if all listings were free?... I mean, there are already plenty as it is....

·2 years agoHeck, I remember how full of junk eBay would get when they did the free listings specials. People would be listing absolute junk BECAUSE it didn't cost them anything to do so. I'm talking things like stuffed animals that looked like they had been chewed on by a dog.

·2 years agoEnding and relisting your fixed-price listings, so you use twice as many free insertions, is your own unique strategy. If it "kills sales," why are you doing it? If you want to support this doubled-up use of free insertions, perhaps you should try a Store subscription.
Did you know that when you end and re-list a fixed price listing, eBay assigns the same original start date to that listing? When I sort your active listings by "Newest first," only about 25 of your 335 active listings are showing an October start date.

·2 years agoI am certain that Ebay has determined that the continued existence of Ebay stores is worth more to them than the sales burst in low volume sellers who do not have stores.
